freddiemcfred12: Small board, one mod offline 1 month, ok. speedwerd: Could you contact the mod first per the first post in the thread.
You should probably play NES games on a more widely accepted emulator like FCEUX. Many mods may reject due to not wanting to set a precedent for playing on obscure emulators.
Not to mention you uploaded 11 minutes of footage for a 1 minute run. You're asking the mods to sort through 10x more video than necessary to find the relevant part. If you can't bother to make your video concise and to the point, why should they bother taking time to review it?
We have scripts to do this or you can edit the runs manually, it looks like someone handled it.
Yeah, runs don't work well with data types that are no longer defined for the game. Has to be re-edited.
SuperBlitzCraig: I didn't even know that was in the site code until you mentioned it. Pac apparently hard-coded it for you a long time ago, so I'll ask about grandfathering it in. (We're not adding user specific code for anyone else, don't ask.) I'd probably support custom icons for users who donate, but it's not implemented right now.
I mean I'm not saying I'm against it, but there are numerous other items that would benefit the site/user base as a whole more in the short term.
If anything, maybe it would suggest a "user blog" style page instead of a "forum page". I'm not sure if throwing that code on top of the forums is beneficial.
I had suggested a user setting to individually allow removal of favicons, themes, and trophies. This probably isn't too much work, but I don't know where the coders would want to prioritize it. As for customizing your own, I think the benefit is pretty minimal. You could have a script overwrite the site icons in your browser if you really wanted to.
As far as more stuff in the sidebar, it's already bloated and needs heavy reorganization. I'm hesitant to support adding more code on top of it before it's refactored. It needs to support arbitrary configurable types of things and not have a case for every single named thing individually. It's a good idea certainly, but it just stacks more on a suboptimal sidebar handling system at the moment in my opinion.
Jumpyluff, that's a pretty big forum update necessary to add that functionality. i_o_l: I'll leave that up to Lighnat0r to prioritize or respond to. My opinion is essentially the same as it was, but some things were changed since then, so there could be additional overhead or concerns related to it.
Neksus: I've been pushing for an update to handle this, but it's not simple. Any hackish solution to this for the short term will just set us backwards in my opinion. Rom hacks are handled suboptimally on the site currently as it is.
Short version: I want the following tags for games (probably more)
- rom hack
- mod
- fangame
- homebrew
and I'd also like the front page and search bar to be able filter those items out through user profile settings.
Kkove: If you take the time to make your posts look decent, people will probably take more them more seriously. about27midgets: Contact the mod. PackSciences response is not correct because the game already exists. KKove: This is a case where the option to have multiple series per game would help us. Since we don't have that option, I'd rather leave the 4 super mario advance games in the same series for now to keep track of them easier, unless the yoshi mods really want it.
Deleted old Ampsen (2 day old account), renamed Accj21 to Ampsen.
Added note to first post about creating new accounts vs name changes.
Ampsen: Discuss it with the mod, he's quite active. It's difficult to make objective categories for the game because the primary level design is random user generated content. There is nothing inherently wrong with the page. I'm reading you can use USB drives to move save data around on Wii U? (I don't own one, so can't confirm.)
Epic_Pacman: Added due to 2 runs in queue and only one moderator who isn't the most active.
Moved Mario Maker. Thinking with Time Machines was move to portal rom hacks. (It's kind of annoying to move things to/from rom hacks right now., because it's not coded ideally) Tingles isn't going to be moved unless the Zelda community pushes for it because it's a spinoff.
how did u make that mistake
because I was processing like 30 other game requests as well.
ItsNiklass: One of his series I just ran into had crappy meme themes that I just deleted, so I'm not a huge fan. I'll turn his Lego games back over to the series moderators. I went ahead and made the other series moderator a super mod as well. Carljeff: Added due to inactivity. No need to bump unless a full mod or admin posted and missed your request. AntiElite: I mean technically some categories are defined, but no runs were added in the 7 weeks its been up apparently, so I'll add you. andypanther: I only know you from posting in Quest 64 threads, sorry. I removed him because he's been inactive 6 months and doesn't have a run. CoasterZz: AMVX is the guy to talk to apparently. :P P3Prod1: No mods active in 3 weeks probably means another mod wouldn't hurt, and you have a run, so ok
SevenS1ns: My personal policy in more recent time has been to add popular games featured at other sites if a user requesting it has a reasonably notable time. I think it burdens the site users to use a different system for a single game. Pac is looking into APIs to synchronize with other boards, but I have no idea if/when that will meet enough expectations/concerns to be able to launch it. So for now my answer is, I will add the game if a user with a notable time requests it through the game request form. The moderators may be superceded by a merge/API at some point, but I think the major concern is allowing site users to have runs under one interface, which should be met in either case. Some people probably don't like this idea, but I think the current state is becoming a burden on the users.
1 week before is what I've been allowing for most games. I'll usually give it in advance if the user has runs of other games on that console/series. You should fully intend to buy and run the game if you're requesting it in advance.
Less active users requesting games in advance with no run available I usually reject. I try to make sure really popular games requested in advance go to highly active users. It's subjective obviously, and not always the most consistent (because a few of us handle the game requests, and this stuff hasn't been written down).
Cleaned up threads. I asked Lighnat0r if editing my topic title for Username Change Requests is easy or if I should just create a new one.
samuca_brazilian: Game has numerous moderators, please contact them to ask Woutt64: I'll add you because there's only one mod and a lot of unaddressed forum activity. Droanux: Ok, you have a good time and the board only has one mod who isn't the most active. gamerretro2: Verz is pretty active, contact him.
I don't speak French.
