I am not a mod but I would also assume this glitch is banned. It kind of cheapens the run, don't you think? I believe it is banned at CTWC, not that that makes any difference here, but worth noting.

Sorry I didn't see this sooner, and yeah thanks for resubmitting! When I originally approved I had just assumed that the very first couple seconds of the video got cut off so no big deal, it didn't look fishy or anything to me. GG!

I'm not against it, but I am against removing the level 0 start category :)

Not that that was proposed, but we had this problem in the NES version a while back and it was not fun.

I don't see a reason why not, I was thinking of scoring as well. I didn't write the original rules, I'm not sure why that was in there.

Oh_DeeR I will wait until I get word from BT to verify your <3 level run. I assume it will be fine but I'm not sure yet.

Scoring is the same, that's why no one uses it. Level 10 scores like level 0, 11 like level 1, etc. As far as I remember at least.

It's a good question, and I don't have the answer. I have accepted these runs after studying them to the best of my ability. I cannot prove or disprove whether they are running at the same exact speed, but I have done a few crude tests timing the line clear animation against my own, and they seem to line up.

As far as lag goes, to my knowledge this game has none, but I could be wrong. I am doing my best ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Yeah not all games require it, but most do, and I would think it's just better for everyone if there is a video :)

Yeah All-Stars categories should be on that game's page IMO. The games don't really play the same IIRC, so idk why they'd be on the same board. Also, stopping timing on final input seems exactly how it should be, not sure why the cork thing transferred over.

Updated rules to show recommended emulators :)

I honestly don't know what GB emulators are good and what aren't, I am not an emulator guy at all. If someone knows, feel free to post here so we can sort this out. I can add stuff to the rules if needed.

Uh oh, I think you are right. Idk how I didn't notice this the first time I watched. I will ask Cheese what emu she is using.

I wouldn't consider 2q a meme, it's just another quest.

I verified the run, and didn't notice that, apologies. I don't have a hard stance on this. If the player isn't cheating, then I think it's fine, but I have no method of proving one way or the other. I usually go with the honor system on stuff like this. I'm fine with whatever is decided here. I don't run the game anymore so I am way out of the loop here. I did watch the run, and it seemed legit to the naked eye.

This graphic shows the correct ladder pixel. The top of Link's hat should split the top rung of the ladder, hiding the dark brown and leaving the light brown exposed.

Thank you NESC for reinstating and thank you to everyone for your feedback on the matter. I'm glad we could come to a compromise. :)

As for 300K, it's very arbitrary, but I wouldn't like to see it removed, as people have also worked hard on that category. I wouldn't be opposed to a maxout category though. I'm sure that would be reserved for the gods :D

My vote is obviously a YEA to reinstate the category.

Hey everyone,

As you may have seen, the 0-start category has been removed, and all of its times have been integrated into the 100 Lines category. You can click filters and choose by level now, but it's just not the same.

0-Start, in my opinion, is very unique, and should remain its own category. It was the most popular category (82 runners?) and has been a staple of the game's leaderboard for years.

  • My suggestion is to leave the 100 Lines category how it is, with the filters for level selection, but to also reinstate the 0-Start as its own category. They are just too different. While I understand that starting from any level is just as different as the next, 0-Start is the "beginning" of the game. That's why it was unique. Otherwise, it's just Any% and you can use whatever strats you'd like (15, 18, 19, etc.) -

*** The most important thing to me about this whole change is that it seems almost nobody in the community was asked about it beforehand, it was just done. From what I can tell, it's not being agreed upon by most people, but I cannot confirm, so I am making this petition. Please voice your opinion here! ***

Please stay rational and on topic if possible. I want us as a community to know how we feel about this and how we should move forward. Set aside the petty differences and let's talk it out.

:) <3

Put back 0-start and leave the filters on 100 line is my idea.

Talking to the community before changes like this is also important.

Like, very important.

Thanks.

I use my left thumb to slide off the dpad (down), or my right thumb to slide off (right) accordingly. I know everyone does it slightly differently, using thumbs or fingers, etc. Find what works for you and go with that. Trying to actually "press" it for 1 frame as you would normally manipulate a dpad is probably the hardest. You wanna do taps or slide-offs for sure.

Oh and for the record, I would think using a keyboard for 1 frame taps would be harder than a controller, but I could be wrong.
