Huh, weird it doesn't update for everyone I guess more universally. I still see the stock trophies.
Thanks for confirming that.
If you have any attraction to the NES console, I would recommend "Pizza Pop" or "Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers" (the first one).
I made a tutorial for Chip & Dale you can find via the SRC guides/resources section there. Both, at least on a basic level, have no RNG and fairly straight forward execution and good learning curves. On a very optimal level (say, top 10 or 20), both also just have a few "difficult" tricks. I really think both games are also very easy to learn considering their length (about 10 minutes). A few hours, or maybe at most, a day of learning.
Hey all, on a board I recently created for a new game, the developer himself actually made some little trophies for 1st to 3rd place.
I added them yesterday, and if you click on anyone's individual page, you can see them (they're like gold/silver/bronze coins):
https://www.speedrun.com/user/junkyard_dave
But on the main SRC page, it shows the default trophies:
https://www.speedrun.com/beard_blade
I waited a day thinking maybe it was a site/cache thing and it would update, but it seems no matter when I upload them, they stay the same on the main SRC page. Is this functionality broken? I know it exists on for example, Mega Man X2 (custom 1st/2nd/third place trophies):
Thanks.
I personally think it's fine as it is. The time categories (all of them, actually) are "non-competitive" (that is to say, the categories themselves receive almost no submissions) as you can tell by easily checking the boards. Most runs are 3-4 years old in medium/hard and easy there was a span of 3 years between recently posted times on easy. It would only bloat the current leaderboard with categories that do see nearly daily/weekly submissions.
I've been a mod probably for 2 - 2.5 years here or something and almost never have seen anyone submit times to time race.
Hey everyone!
I recently made a community Discord for this game, here:
https://discord.com/invite/KDJpfVBSjv
Feel free to join it!
Sounds good! I'll likely make a 100 level category as well even if it remains barren for now then instead of including the 10 categories into the current 90 level category.
Thanks! There's no way to skip the credits after 90 without soft reseting?
I'm wondering then if there should just be 100 levels / 50 levels for categories (provided there's no more unlocked after those last 10.) Seems a little redundant to have 90, 100 and then 50.
Even though I expect this community to always be small, still!
I made a Discord for it today. xD
Feel free to join it. :)
Sutte historically (sadly) is unpopular as a franchise and as a speedrun, so I'd like to avoid creating a bunch of categories no one will run like on the SNES boards. 50 was a good middle ground to start and I wanted to equally as I wrote above add a full-game category.
Hello! I added it this morning! Feel free to submit your run and I'll download it and retime it accordingly if it's off compared to the current timing rules. I think for consistency I obviously want to keep how timing was established in 50 levels, though it sounds like you timed it similarly in 90, just so there's no different timings across different categories.
I struggle to call it Any% because of the confusion the SNES boards have created regarding Sutte and calling it that. Is there extra levels in this game? My own save file I'm on level 88 now, so I don't know if extra get unlocked after beating 90. "Any%" ended up being confusing in Sutte because of the categories they added after surrounding it. I actually contacted authorblues about that prior to making these boards and starting with 50 levels as a category.
Here's what he wrote about that:
"Its been a while since I looked at the game, but iirc, the game has progression gates, as in some levels are locked until you clear a certain number of stages (hence the 25/50/75). I think any% was supposed to be just clearing the game after the last glut of levels opened up, but I'm not sure how that works. We put the board together for the purpose of the shorter category, but we can refine the category definitions to make more sense now."
[Edit]: If there's extra levels, how many get unlocked?
Yeah, I'd mirror Mr. Goat and just add boards for both categories for the above reason also. I equally think it's a good idea to have support for both boards, even if one remains empty for a while so anyone interested doesn't automatically assume 256 is only possible in Type B.
Hey darkman! Welcome.
I wanted to add a full game category from the start, so I'm absolutely ok with that. I'll add it likely today as my weekend was very busy.
Variables make it look really clean, just saw it. I like how this looks as-is. Not cluttered at all.
I think BOSTON. :D
But yeah, having 99 in the front (or the main categories) I've always been a fan of/hardest/most competitive categories on SRC leaderboards instead of the easier ones being the most visible. I think at the very least, 50 could be kept in front (if not just 99) but 20 definitely should be put into miscellaneous.
Definitely ok with 50 getting put there, too.
I personally don't think having to push A+B alone should warrant total category separation. Even if the input is different or in this case probably more precise, as long as the core mechanic remains the same then that's not a big enough change between versions.
I do think bombs transforming into enemies is pretty huge and should warrant separation, though.
So close to sub 10! <10 in this game is a hard achievement.
Good luck to you two!
"KaiserKrister and No One". XD
Yeah, that solved it. I couldn't request before that, but I guess that's the answer. Thanks @ShikenNuggets. :)
It says to me trying to duplicate the request via the tool I made one day ago in the old thread:
"You cannot submit a moderation request because you must have email authentication turned on and your account must be at least 1 month old. To turn on email authentication, visit your account Settings."
I've been the moderator on several games for a long time now and it's always been enabled. Is this the option it's talking about, here?
If so, it's again enabled.
Hey there, done. I was going to run this in the next few days anyway, but there you go.
