As I have stated in the past if you guys want a new category just do a run of it. I don't mind adding new ones in, after all speedrun.com is a website where all runs are showcased. Feel free to do a run, post it here and I'll add in the category.
As for tutorial time, I'll see what I can do.
I'm with that, but many people had expressed concern about it being level 50 crit and how "anti-fun" it would be.
The idea of a Boss Rush RTA (similar to data org) was brought up on the discord a few days back and I feel like it should also be discussed here for anyone who isn't part of the discord. Just curious on people's opinions on weather it should be lvl 99 or lvl 50 (imo difficulty should be crit if it's lvl 99 and maybe something like proud if it is 50) but what does everyone else think?
Going to formally ask this hear. For his pb Dax used an NG+ file but because he had no items carried over it was counted as an NG run. Are we allowed to do that? If so its pretty neat that we can use a customized aqua in NG runs.
You can just have the stream timer present on there. Alternatively use livesplit on your computer to retime your run, and submit it. Thanks in advance. Also, to clarify the reason that needs to be there is so arguments don't happen about differences of seconds.
Before I say anything let me just say my goal isn't to offend anyone, so I am sorry if you do get offended by any of this.
I think what I said was heavily misunderstood above, due to various responses saying that "ssd isn't really that expensive compared to other things we require" etc... My problem isn't with the price, it is with fairness. I will directly address a few things to make myself clear. (Once again, since I will be quoting people, nothing personal/no offensive purpose)
"Paying money for the best results is something you do in a hobby." If I am a soccer player and I want to improve I won't buy better shoes, or a better ball. I'll do more fitness exercises and more practice. Simply bringing up examples of other things such as sports and other competitive cases I don't think properly fits here as speedrunning is unique in terms of how it functions. Hundreds of examples could be brought in to support either side and that's why i don't think comparing this topic to other cases really works out.
"I clearly remember people upgrading ps3 models from slim to super slim to get better times in BBS." I don't think BBS is the proper way to discuss this as load times on BBS were a bit weird on how they worked. The thing with ssd is you basically have a flat better time.
"If you limit the options, you limit the player base, simple as that." Video proof required. Even for an 8 hour Terra standard run. I think if we want to focus on not limiting the player-base not banning ssd is not what we should be looking at.
To conclude I personally don't care if it is banned or not as I have no problem buying one, but in my eyes, it doesn't seem fair. The least that could be done to please both sides (by the way at the time of writing this the strawpoll is exactly 50:50) is maybe make separate categories. I think since there is a large amount of people who want to ban it and not ban it, maybe this type of compromise would be best. Just putting this out there as a suggestion.
I mean imo its kinda arbitrary. I'd be fine with a custom match run similar to LoL runs though. Nevertheless its up to runners.
- Planning to run Very Hard starting this weekend.
- I know what % means it just doesn't feel right. Like idk its just kinda weird when its not after the word any or 100 XD
From now on please include millisecond timing in all run submissions (I have updated the current WRs). Additionally, if you submit an image make sure it is in a format that is view-able on the website and doesn't appear as a mere link (usually a simple direct link will do). Thank you.
Alright thanks. :)

I would like to run the psp version of the game which is different than the ps2 version but also different than ds. Basically there appears to be no category for it. Is there any chance one can get added?

Are emulators allowed? My psp is currently broken and in the process of being fixed, just curious.
So I kinda want to run the termina map, which btw is incorrectly named on the lbs here (should be "Termina" not majora's mask). But anyway I was kind of confused on the rules. Can the run be done even if the adventure map is complete or is a clean save with an uncompleted map needed?
Just to say one thing midget, when new strats are found in any category all old runs can become faster.
