Yeah, same problem, my crappy pc barely gets the job done with emu.

We should make a new thread, depending on how much people want to run this, if only two of us is interested in it, we could do it through steam chat or whatever. I finally got a ctw for psp and need to borrow a psp so I can work on it, so it wont be a problem, or through an emu. On an other note, I am thinking of maybe adding a level leaderboard so people could show off their skills in individual levels, as there is the mission replay option in CTW similar to TBoGT, so if others are down for that, I might add that, also that will be useful as a practice for any% and 100% for runners.
I agree about the set seed part, it all depends on the runners preferences, but yeah, there are chances of there being very little spawns of spider dens in random seed, that makes it even harder to run and a decreases a chance for the run to nt die in the end.

But yeah, I consider running Adventure Mode and possibly also this category soon as I really enjoy this game, but havent had the chance to run it seriously, I will see how everything goes this year at the uni tho.

Well I have a somewhat route of ir a 100% run and most of it is different a lot from the possible all mission run. But there is a TAS any% without save glitch run on Nintendo DS version of the game that could be used as a base for a route.
Basically nothing isnt different from the PSP version except for the additional 5 missions you have to do midway into the game.
I think we should add any% without the save glitch IMO.
P.S. I could help on making a proper route, but I havent had time for the past month, might try to make something next week.
You cant enter set seeds for adventure mode, the point of the Adventure set seed is that you start in the survival mode in set seed and continue in a randomized adventure mode, thats why its in the misc category, because it doesnt really change the time overall only helps you get to the adventure mode faster than the random seed one.
I havent really experienced or know about other glitches rather than this one aswell. I haven't really been part of the Don't Starve community, so I am not aware of any glitches.
Wilson is the only one allowed because it is average in stats and provides fair runs for everyone, I might add a feature for runners to add with what characters they run with, but in categories like adventure mode it might be all one sided with one character( ike Crash Team Racing speed runs etc).
Well the only possible way to get an unpatched version of the game is either if there is mods like in GTA where you can change the game into its original state or illegal ways that I dont encourage.
Yeah, practicing it made me realize how they did think at that time that everyone will drive every race without mistakes, in reality, its frustrating af lol but thanks :)
I will try to apply for the super mod position probably in the next days. Well I came to the conclusion that - I will add AM set seed and any% set seed to misc and will add the non RoG all bosses as main. As for set seed category on all bosses, I agree that it seems really pointless at the moment and if someone will really want to run it then I will make it at that point, but for now I wont.
Well, Im still more into CTW and working on 100% route there (I know, its been around a month now, im lazy), so at the moment I doubt I had any time to be a Super mod here, but I might try in the future.

I will add Adventure Mode any% and I think it does affect either you start with set or random seed, so there should be 2 different categories for that, I will check everything out tonight and it will probably be added.

Same as the Adventure mode, I will research it and it seems like yes, there should be 2 different categories. Edit: Now I actually realized that there can also be a set seed and a random seed RoG and non-RoG category so that makes it 4 different categories, do you think it is needed or will just make it more confusing for other newer players?

I might do that, but the problem is that I haven't done set seeds ever, not really sure how the all process work, as I have only played using random seeds. I might post here or make another topic about it as I have seen how it can be done on Steam forums.

This threads main reason will be to discuss timing related rules and also adding new categories. I only recently became a mod of this game and due to different outside issues havent had enough time to pick up and run all categories myself aswell as haven't yet added new categories. But seeing as other mods haven't been active since this all was made and seeing activity here there is definitely in need of re-organizing this.
Here everyone can ask me a question ar say a suggestion and I will try to help and answer all of them.
Also about the timers, I did make a bit more precise description right now, but want to hear your opinion if you agree on this or not.

Hello, I wanted to request myself to be added as a mod to http://www.speedrun.com/dont_starve . The mods of this game havent been active for more than a month not only on speedrun.com but in general, so they are impossible to reach. I've had a speedrun experience (little, but decent enough to understand the proper ways and rules of this game) and I wanted to be apart of the mod team.

1st: The timer ends after the credits, because when the runner finishes Salt in the Wound (The last storyline mission) they need to find Lions of Fo that adds to 100% completion, the missions unlocked after the both Lions are found do not count towards.
2:Yes, PSP, iOS and Android versions have more missions (5 more, both count towards 100% completion) as far as I have read. So basically DS version will be considered a different category run. Also based on the iOS percentage glitch, it should probably also be included as a different category.
iOS versions dont have the Lions of Fo, so that might also change the time when the timer is being stopped, if the runner decides that the last mission will be the last thing to achieve 100%
P.S. From what I have read, PSP version also has 5 more rampages and more Time Trials/ Riding Shotgun

The thing is that, on touchscreens it is rather hard to speedrun CTW, controls feel a bit cluncky at times, so probably DS and PSP versions will be a go to ones for runners.
Also, i could moderate the 100% runs myself, if that is an option
Any chance of adding this category and/or anyone even being interested into doing 100% CTW runs? Im thinking of either getting a PSP or capturing footage on android and try my luck and bring more activity for this game.
