Updated time to 5:20.017 using the official timing method.
A note about this timing: for consistency of comparisons between runs, we time runs according to the flashes seen at the start and end of the tower. This can result in slightly longer times compared to the time that is displayed in the tower, typically a difference of 1-2 frames.
Well done! That was a tragic desync at the end, this would have been a 2nd place time without it.
I've also not seen anyone go across the first pair of greens like that, it's giving ideas of another possible time save...
Protogy, I've added an option to specify the console for your run. Could you update it? IIRC you were on PS5?
Watched the video, and everything looks good to me! I haven't double checked the millisecond timing, I'll circle back and update if it changes.
For posterity about my thought process regarding the desync in this run (the one in the blue platform section). Historically I've rejected runs where a desync causes you to save time while you're standing on the platform. The desync here did not do that so it's presumptively okay. However this particular one posed another question that isn't addressed in the rules: what if a desync allows for a cycle that is otherwise impossible without a desync? We don't currently have a hard and fast rule for this, so the test I applied was "are there equivalent or faster cycles that don't require a desync". In this case the answer is yes (in part evidenced by pin not getting a gold split in this section, but I can go into the details of how we know for sure there are other equivalent cycles if anyone is interested). There is ongoing discussion about whether or not this is a good test to use, so this may become more relaxed in the future. For now, we will continue to apply a test that requires runs not to have time saves from desyncs that are not otherwise possible without the desync.
First console run with a video, exciting! Great job staying composed on the furniture field.
Congrats on the run! Keep in mind that we'll require a video of any runs going forward.
It does! Also consider submitting this run to the [Switch] subcategory as well, running this on a controller is much harder that keyboard+mouse (which is most of this category's submissions). Congrats on the run!
Thanks for the upload! Congrats on a great run! That was a smooth recovery in IKEA
Updated to include what video you do have for this run :P
The footage does capture the portion of the run with the most impactful and easy to execute glitch (vertical windmill toss), so I'll give this a one-time pass. If you include a screenshot showing your highscore 5:57 as well I can verify this.
