In the last week, I tried to route the Price of Loyalty campaign. It was fine until the last two scenarios. Put it this way: the Roland campaign takes about ~200 days; this took me 309, and half of that was for those two. Between the necessary scenarios and difficulty spike towards the end, I'm thinking this might be a 3-4+ hour speedrun.
You can skip playing 3 out of the 8 scenarios, but you will be severely handicapped for endgame. Having the artifacts and free Elves make for a consistent route and should save more time than building troops.
As for difficulty, most maps are rush the AI and are fairly straightforward. Except the last two. I would say #7 is worse than #8. #7 requires the AI doesn't open all the gates (terrible map design), then either building troops or getting Dimension Door. #8 is easier with the use of Town Portal, but goes to hell if Red gets Dimension Door. Most likely they do as they have 5 castles. And about 1000 of each undead troop. Joy.
I might stream this sometime by the end of next week, as it'll be Spring Break for me soon.
Ah, my mistake. Thought it was the same user. Will split the vids and have to edit a couple things.
Alright, all runs are now verified and I have given you mod privilege back. Apologies for my harshness; I do not think self-verified runs would be viewed as acceptable, so I have to take the time to watch everything.
Hey hey, please don't just add your runs to this board without having someone else watch them first. I was still in the middle of watching your run and others that I need to verify. I have removed your mod status for the time being until I have watched all the runs you have submitted. Please don't do this again as it is very disrespectful to me as for now it seems I'm the only one maintaining these games.
¤ After a couple months of hiatus, at least this board is getting used again. It'll take me a bit to organize things. I also didn't know mods could just submit their own runs w/o verification, or rather approve of their own runs. I had Killer249 verify mine before I asked for mod.
Added, and I gave you moderator. Have fun.
Could you add me as a mod for Heroes of Might and Magic II? http://www.speedrun.com/heroes_of_might_and_magic_ii I messaged Killer249 on the forum here: http://www.speedrun.com/Speedrunning/thread/c5jg1 and they said aren't able to add me as a mod.
Hi, I'm currently planning to run Heroes of Might and Magic II, and possibly other games in the series later on. Right now I'm playing the original two campaigns, then the four expansions. I've spent the last week routing Roland% and tried an initial run a few hours ago. I don't have any streaming software set-up yet, so I just took a screenshot of the highscore list w/ my timer. Time was about 2:25:05; I kept screwing up my split buttons on first attempts, took a couple pauses, and RNG. Lots of RNG.
Would you mind if you could add me as a mod? I would like to be a part of organizing the categories.
