Mixing sentiments like this to your issues with StrawberryMilk won't help to resolve them in any way. Whatever good or bad things we did in the past, if anybody does something wrong, people will come to stop the crap. And that doesn't mean we take side to any part of the conflict.
As I said earlier, I'm talking since the beginning about refusing this consistent rolljump on Insane. And precisely on Insane, there is no such thing like importance of 1 setup above another. In my point of view, they all are on the same level, because if you miss any major move, it's generally death, whatever you're doing : moving to another room, fighting a boss, dodging ennemies... I'm not qualified enough to state the same for other difficulties.
But that's basically because the consistency becomes 100% without real effort that this is representing a problem. If this is perfectly possible without config edits, why does it appear in the first place on serious runs ? Only because the usual way is not comfortable ?
You're right Luna, there is no solution for the moment to detect it, and maybe this will lead to have more suspicion on perfects runs. And perhaps this might need webcam, keyboard or controller devices on stream (Nohboard, Gamepad Viewer...) to show it clearly that each ability is separated from others.
And the superiority of keyboards on some games is not something new for 2D games : Dustforce, Cave Story, Super Meat Boy... So I'm not very surprised if in the future, keyboard wins on leaderboard.
Well, I guess most of the main arguments against this have been said in the previous posts, so I prefer bring a new point to the table.
For easy, normal and hard categories, the trick just represents a minor time advantage, because even if you miss your rolljump, you still can afford some damages before dying (except spikes).
However, that's a huge different case for Insane, where everything is able to ruin your run if you're hit only once. Running on Insane means that you have to learn the game with the fear that missing any major rolljump will just lead you to death and reset. So most of the Insane runners just have to deal with it, using what the game provides, and no other choice than getting used to rolljump during hours until it works and becomes kinda consistent.
So I'm pretty sure that at least, this trick has no reason to be allowed on Insane category.
We have Ng+ casual, we have Ng+ Extreme, so I don't know... Are they very major differences ?
Well, I just went to enjoy the marathon during Friday because that was the only day I could afford this year for my first time inside ESA, so I have fewer to say instead of others :

As runner, that was probably the saddest performance I did. I was ready to expect any problem to happen during the Limbo race, like skips going wrong, or lack of focus while commentating. I just didn't expect at all my laptop can't be used, and that the settings of the main one were so dark I got the bad surprise to see after 20 mins that major elements of the game were invisible, hidden in the shadows. This new RNG was so stressful that I didn't have the idea to stop the race to change the brightness quickly. And that made me decompose little by little, fighting to save the run the most possible :/

As attendee, that was really cool for the first time. Couchs everywhere to appreciate the runs comfortably, I met some runners, and obviously, Watching runs with mates has a really better taste than doing it alone on Twitch. Mass housing is really fine for weak wallets.
Even if the race went bad, and I didn't have time to appreciate the entire event, I'll try to come back next year, with or without personal run on schedule.
I knew it ! My future race at ESA will cause a disaster OSsloth
I think you don't have to worry about it. Mods are humans, so if they have a box full of pending runs which need to be verified and they don't have time, they just simply don't check immediately. So unless you do incredible massive spam with submitted runs, it's ok. In the worst case, mods will contact you directly if you do abusive things :p
I used this one : MAN3E-TE53I-VGC20
Thank you, @roachyogi
If this game is going to have a growing community, we should probably start a discord server, soon or later :D
Is it the same if we quit Växjö to get back to CPH airport ?
Hello, I got a question about the train ticket from Copenhagen to Växjö : Even if I buy it during the 3 hours before the time of departure, I'm still sure to be able to get in ?
It finally happened ? Kreygasm
To be honest I don't know if I'll run this game. I'm more comfortable with sub 1h runs, and Party Hard seems very long at first look.
I'll probably focus a little IL's when I'll come back from ESA, but for the moment, Limbo has to be my #1 priority.
Good luck with the future full runs !
Hello,
If you take a close look, first runners who submitted runs started and ended their runs on first and last input, so that's basically what you said in your post.
The thing is the actual mod created the page, and then went to SGDQ, so he just didn't have time to care much more (the game's page still doesn't have picture).
Let's wait his entire comeback for the moment. If you have more questions, feel free to meet us on Discord.
Doing IL is cool, but it just looks like perfecting the parts of the game to lead us to run the entire story. Even if RIckyhorror considers it's pointless, we are numerous to see it's more than worth the try. I know it will change a lot the time we need to check the pending runs, but we have probably runners here who are ok to do it. Maybe we need to add some moderators to improve this way
Hello everyone, I start this topic to centralize the differents discoveries we can have during our playing time that may lead us to improve the speedrun.
Yesterday, while playing with friends, I found it's possible to fall to activate the trigger of the next checkpoint after pushing the safe. But I don't know yet if we can conclude to a future setup for this (I did it only twice in ~9min, and it's difficult to do it)
World Speedrunners Assembly ? Should be enough, but WSA is less sexy than ESA to pronounce :(
I always thought ESA has his name based on the continent, and not the European Union... But well, my words don't matter, I'm not UK, so I should do my own fucking thread about it :D
@dylan8915
"Accusations have been made about me about my times. Therefore I will be stepping down as mod for a lot of the games I am mod for and will delete some of the runs I have on the leaderboard. I hope all of you haters out there are happy now 222"
So you've stated this 2 hours ago on your twitter after some accusations that you can overcome easily by doing some videos of your runs with any pc. Calling people haters when they just exposed logically why vods are now big part of the legitimacy. And now you want to give up the moderation of most of your games, after being accused.
If we are haters, you're a coward to react this way, when this situation just needs your recorded runs to be defused, even with bad quality.
