Here's how it works: start with a throwing knife. Point your weapon wheel at it, then go down to rifles and switch your rifle but don't pull it out. Go back up to your throwing knife and close the wheel, then open it back up quickly go back down to the rifle and pull it back out as demonstrated in the video. This strat only requires throwing knives and fire bottles, so you can use it for the mountain climb in West Elizabeth. Might need to adjust based on how much of a dick the game decides it wants to be. E.G. starting with fire bottles instead or needing to chuck all dynamite etc. Just make sure you have throwing knives and fire bottles!

Is Star Road's 0 star category even popular enough to be split like that? You have to keep in mind there's only been 2 runners ever to have completed that sky jump, and plenty that have done the other method. All splitting the categories would really do is give TriforceTK back the populated category's record tbh. All respect to Triforce, but those other 2 runners didn't grind for weeks to pull off Star Road's hardest trick just to get shunted off to the side in their own category.

This is a category extension board for multiple RDR games, ILs will not be added. Especially not for minigames. If you want to participate in ILs, go run RDR1's gang hideout leaderboards or revolver's levels or RDR2's missions.

Yes, you can still run on emulator, but your runs will be rejected if you submit them. Because of emulator inconsistencies and how easy it would be to mod the game, emulators are banned. It's still possible to mod the game on ps3 and xbox360, but it's a much longer process to do that and most people don't understand how it works. The few that do are modding multiplayer and have no interest in speedrunning.

Basically, if you want to run the game on emu, we won't stop you. But your runs aren't allowed on the boards.

Just make ILs or something for stuff like Daycare%, and carefully define when those runs start and end.

As every speedrunner knows, some platforms are better for games than others. This holds true with Revolver as well.

From careful research and analysis, speedrunner Mashun has managed to figure out that the Xbox Series S/X and xbox one family of consoles run Revolver fastest, with the original xbox being the next best console. PS4/PS5 and Ps2 are the absolute slowest consoles you can use.

On the newer xbox models, revolver also runs at 60 FPS. That might make a huge difference.

In that case, in the event where a load remover doesn't work on a pc run, why not verify the run using RTA and state in the rules "If the loadless timer is not used or is found incompatible the run will be timed RTA"? In my opinion that's better than rejecting a run that was still performed legitimately.

I also don't see why his run had to be rejected for being incompatible with a loadless timer when console runs have the same issue and are not rejected unless there's something fishy with them. From what I could tell, there was nothing wrong with this runner's footage. His run just didn't work with a timer?

I'd argue they'd be more accurate since you can start cutting loading times the exact frame they start, where with a loadless timer we don't always know what's being cut there. But even if that isn't necessarily possible, there's no excuse for not at least trying to retime the console runs here. If it was a time thing, they're too busy to do it, you could just argue they could do it when they find a little bit of free time. But that change came like a year or so ago, before I did a single run for the game. And it still begs the question, why use loadless for only pc and not do it for consoles where there's an even bigger disadvantage with load times and framerate among other things?

About a week ago I noticed someone finally beat my primitive attempt at an act 1 DLC speedrun for this game. Just today I check my profile and somehow I noticed I had WR again because the run got rejected because loadless timing didn't work.

Why didn't the mods just manually retime the run? Like, I get you guys might not have much time to do so, but in my honest opinion the point of loadless time is to make it possible for every console or computer to be able to fairly run the game and have an equal chance at WR. If you guys don't want to retime a run to make sure the loadless timer is correct or retime console runs to put everyone at a level playing field, what's the point? And especially with how few runs are done on consoles anyways, I don't really understand why those runs weren't retimed either. Like, my runs were retimed, but load times weren't removed. You guys looked at my run, evidently.

I know my name doesn't mean much here since I've only submitted a couple runs and don't do anything for this community, but I still feel like it's a bad precedent to set by retiming pc runs and using a loadless timer for those but not for other consoles.

Like I said, it's literally just a casual playthrough with a timer. There's a reason Undead Nightmare doesn't have Warpless, and neither does RDR2 or RDR1.

Like, who the hell is gonna sit there and route glitchless? Why does that exist? Wouldn't it need to be split into NG and NG+ glitchless as well? I don't see the point here.

This does lead me to another point though, I think a Revolver mod should be brought onto these boards to properly maintain them so that Hess can focus on RDR2 and mashun doesn't get swamped with RDRev requests. So far Mashun's the only runner here to do every game in some capacity.

This leaderboard shouldn't get IL leaderboards because it's for every game, however I don't disagree with the idea of adding an extra category or two. I do think people need to speedrun the categories that exist a bit more though instead of wanting more all the time, because otherwise it might look like you want some free world records.
