Welcome! What game's are you planning on running? Anime and videos games. . . . Persona comes to mind. What are you favorite animes? I'm a generic animehead, DBZ, Champloo and Rurouni Kenshin are my bread and butter.
Happens to a lot of runners, check the profiles a big portion of us have runs in over a dozen games, and those are only the runs we've submitted!
What R3tr0 said, you want to speedrun but. . . . don't leave us in suspense, what game!?!
To be fair, everybody has to compete under the same criteria, so I don't think that diminishes the game at all from a competitive standpoint.
What is the question you are asking? There really isn't a consensus other than everything is handled at a game by game basis. The newer the games are, it seems the more difficult to achieve an accurate emulation.
Congrats and welcome, I hope somebody bops you soon so you can have some competition!
I can confirm that both Raspberry Pi emulators I've played on are near unplayable from a speedrunning standpoint, the lag was too much.
N64 Na to JPN conversion looks almost as easy to SNES conversion!
Final Fantasy X. . . . . 2? What made you choose that one? I never played it, but heard it was decent. In any case, good luck and welcome!
Planning on giving the game a run Yoni?
No game breaking glitches, but certainly not optimized and we have a small community. Hope to see you running! https://www.speedrun.com/sf2gb
Way of the Samurai, I completely for about that series @Mekarazium I played it so much for the different endings back in the day.
Dead by Daylight, I need to look into that one. Good luck on your runs!
Japan would be fantastic, but my ol lady traveled around Australia and New Zealand this year, and her stories and pictures made me a believer. I'd go there first!
Not a whole lot to say for me. I work in the non-profit sector for job 1 and work at a gym for job 2. I boxed amateur when I was young and fell in love with the sport. In my free time I play Chess, speedrun retro games and write articles about Boxing (Can you tell I really like Boxing Kappa). One day I hope to own my own Boxing gym/club and manage/train professional fighters to help them thrive financially as well as in the ring. Fun Fact: I worked in collections for 6 years and it put me on depression meds until I quit and moved to a different field. Since then, I've been able to stop taking meds and successfully manage!
I purposely stream at 540p because a lot of viewers complained about not being able to downscale the video below source. I lack knowledge on the subject, but that's how I solved the issue. If any streamers have advice on the, I'd appreciate it. Also, if you're having the same issue. . .
Also worth noting, "not being competitive" really means not optimized in this case. I bet if you were to find improvements, you would inspire some rivalry, then suddenly it's competitive.
Welcome Jag! If you have any questions let us know, always glad to help. What games do you enjoy running?
