Improvements!

Since basically everyone here has to submit video for verification, and let's face it if you are looking in this thread, you are a streamer. I think it be good to have a thread around improving that! Sadly I don't have any advise to give you. Though many users here are well acquainted with such a thing!

I realize this entire subcategory is kinda about that, however, I'd like this one to be about things you can do everywhere. (Excluding xbox and playstation.) For example, applying a filter to mics. A majority of you can do that right now!

Heck you could even give advise on tweaking pc performance!

I purposely stream at 540p because a lot of viewers complained about not being able to downscale the video below source. I lack knowledge on the subject, but that's how I solved the issue. If any streamers have advice on the, I'd appreciate it. Also, if you're having the same issue. . .

@TheGreatToddman you have to be partner or be generally a "bigger" streamer to get quality options on twitch. if you're not pulling enough, they don't give them to you - simple as that. but honestly, if a lot of viewers on your stream don't have the sufficient internet speeds, I wonder why they're on a streaming site in the first place. I'd just tell em to get a better connection or watch the VoD.

@HowDenKing "you have to be partner or be generally a "bigger" streamer to get quality options on twitch" I apparently get quality options despite being a pretty lowly affiliate. I think there's a couple factors that play into it, but generally speaking from my experience partners are guaranteed to get them (or at least have the highest priority), affiliates get them some of the time, and non-affiliates have the lowest priority (which basically means never).

"if a lot of viewers on your stream don't have the sufficient internet speeds, I wonder why they're on a streaming site in the first place" To be fair, watching a stream that's locked at, say, 1080p60 can be pretty rough even if you have decent internet.

You could also change platforms if really needed. I understand a lot of people are connected and use to the one they use, or wish to support it, but sometimes you just have to select a better opinion for you. as @Liv stated a higher bitrate is very important! You need to give the platform as much data as you can! COMPRESSION AAAAH YOUTUBE WHY Most try to push this to the limit but I wouldn't recommend that. Sometimes your connection might not be as good or mess up a bit. I like to have mine set a little lower than I want because of that. Just in case anything goes wrong.

If you can't reach something higher, it might be time for some hardware cleaning or additions. GET THAT RAM

I heard that non-affiliates never get quality options, affiliates have an option of getting it if their viewer base is high enough, and all partners get it. Not sure if that's true.
