@TmDestruction all the best to your children man! sure it's gonna be hard to find the time to play with a family (especially with little kids).

didn't wanna force you guys to run. everyone plays whenever they feel like and wanna take the time for it (and find the time in the first place). will take a break myself. need to enjoy my holidays now rather than grind a silly old game :)

when are you guys gonna run again? feeling a bit lonely on the tracks.

it's sad that we have no streamers. I love watching other runners play. when Firen was streaming a couple years ago it was so much fun and thrilling! same with nukecorruption.

got this one yesterday

no benefit unfortunately. there's probably more of this crazy stuff in the track.

going for a record feels more like work than fun now. it's hard to find the motivation to grind and dedicate time for it. but let's see. something tells me, that new records will come.

I accidentally found out today, that Ogstas in his All Cups NG+ run set a Mirror WR that should still be WR. his time for the run is around 15:44/45 or something (from chosing the car until finish). it's more than 1 minute faster than the run, which is Mirror WR right now. can we fix this? or must Ogstas submit a Mirror run first?

this is great stuff! the jump at the finish line is insane. I wonder how much time it saves. if you could get it consistently.

I don't believe that either. I have no doubts about any time that has been submitted here. we're a really chill and fun community. and I don't see any trouble here.

but stuff like that has happened in other communities as they grew. so I just wanted to make sure this issue is known.

There's something I've been thinking about for a while and I wanted to share it. Right now we are accepting screenshots as proof of a pb or a WR. Which is basically fine.

If we have a track time, the best imho would be a picture of the endscreen after the run, where the run time can be seen (the one with all three laps or the one where it's compared with the ghost). If it's a lap time it obviously has to be a shot where the lap time can be seen (a shot taken during the run or a shot of the endscreen with all three laps). these screenshots are totally fine.

what could be a little "tricky" is, when the ingame "best times" pages are submitted as proof. we have always accepted these. but I feel like we shouldn't do that anymore. or at least we should be careful with these. and here's the reason:

when running the Pro championships the car gets a speed boost when it's on last place. the boost makes the car a lot faster. so if you wait like 1 or 2 minutes at the start of a track and fall back on last place, you can basically run the last two laps with a significantly higher speed. all of this is very fun and feels great (just try it, if you didn't know it, it's awesome). but there's one thing: the lap times you get during such runs - and you can get lap records - are saved in your "best times".

here's an example:

The lap time 35.86 was gotten with the speed boost. and it can be seen on the ingame "best times" page. this means "best times" pages can be "corrupted" and aren't always reliable.

I don't know if you could really benefit from the boost on every track (I just tried Snake Island). And I'm really not someone who wants to ban or forbid things. Just wanted to point this out.

Cheers to everyone!

Hey Gnobel!

great to have you back here :) was really cool to read about your run, where you got the skip. I have to say your lap record was one of the biggest challenges in the game. And still is.

Wish you good luck if you pick up the game again.

Cheers!

Sup imarxrc!

yeah, a video would be much appreciated. like xatrixx says I'd recommend OBS to record your runs. then upload them somewhere, for instance on youtube. when you click "submit run" on the leaderboard, you get to a page where you enter your time, date of the run etc, and where you can also add a video link. that's it.

screenshots are also accepted. for a track time it would be a picture of the endscreen after the run, where your time can be seen. for a lap time it obviously needs to be a shot where the lap time can be seen. you need to upload the picture somewhere (like imgur) and enter the link when submitting the run. some runners have also submitted their ingame "best times" pages. they have also been accepted.

Merry Christmas to everyone!

I haven't been running either in the last couple of months. Was still checking the site quite frequently though. Main reason I'm not playing is work and that I wanna sort out a couple things in RL. On the weekends I have time to play, but I rather wanna spend the time for other things, that are more important to me. I'm probably pretty rusty now, so I would have to play a long time just to reach a certain level, where I could get WR pace runs. And I don't feel like grinding for hours and hours at the moment.

But I have to say getting a WR is a lot harder now compared to like one and a half years ago. I'm really proud of what our community has achieved. There a still a couple categories where we could get a lot better, like the RTA runs (except Novice). The track and lap records are damn good though.

Not sure when I will play again. There is unfinished business on some stages and categories (like pro category, Snake Island). But now I'm focusing on reaching a couple RL goals. Let's see...

Hope everyone is fine and having fun!

Wish you happy holidays!

the high jump in Snake Island in the end happened on my runs too. I always wondered if the car may cross the finish line while it's in the air. but it never did, it came close a couple times though. I probably wasted all my "insane jump" luck on Moosejaw and Tokyo Bullet.

thanks a lot man! this is really cool. I didn't know about this. I tried a little. you can get The Superjump quite regularly. who knows, maybe you can crack the lap record with the bus. will give it a shot. let's see

After many fails (snow bridge above all) I managed to beat Gnobel's run yesterday. It's possible to get a 30.xx time, probably even a sub 30. While you can raise your chances to jump over the lake with this strat, getting the skip is just RNG. Also getting a crashless skip is simply luck. You just try it over and over again and you'll get it sooner or later. I'll post some more links and thoughts on discord in case someone wants to run this track. I don't know if Gnobel "flew over the lake" and got a skip with a crash or without. But he got a decent time and a record that stood for almost two years and was virtually untouchable. I'm glad this mystery is more or less solved now.

I figured out something like a strat (after being inspired by a lake skip that Firen achieved). I did a video for everyone who wants to try it:

I got the lake skip without a crash. here's a compilation:

There it is, in all its glory:

(I cut the video, because I fucked up the snow bridge skip...not sure if I will ever get over this.)
