FAC is a category where you traverse through Mount Massive Asylum in the most unusual way, only to hear a variant throw a line saying “There’s more than one way to fuck a cat. Come on!” That’s only said during the Male Ward Chase scene. This line to appear on screen is the goal in FAC. No-one really hears this line as their first thought is to run and get out before they are killed by the pressures wielding sticks and blunt objects. This line is something that’ll be passed down to generations, grandkids and all Homo sapiens will know what FAC is and bless it with their heart they still have that isn’t clouded in darkness and evil. FAC is something that’ll live and stay forever in the Outlast Speedrunning Community, as it’s considered one of the best categories besides Hundo and No OoB. No-one could’ve guess I would’ve gotten a 4 minute FAC time, a godlike run with a “perfectly” good window and Boostup. No-one ever wants to do FAC as it’s seen as a hard category to do, and you aren’t wrong. FAC is filled with precision and movement in mind. This is the best category to start out as a casual as it has a mix between of skill and precision, no doubt about it.

Man, every time I see this category I try my best to not cry to loud only to realize I’ll fail within doing so. Imagine crying over the sound of a category name, that’s me and FAC. That’s probably Horror whenever he hears Any%. I can now say I can feel the pain. Loading up a new save only to hear this line that practically makes me squirm hearing so. His manly voice proclaiming and echoing throughout the halls there’s more than 1 way to fuck a cat. I’m not weird I swear. It’s a sheer crime that this category is left in the dark as others shine such as No OoB and 100%. I’d like to leave a thank you to Finath for finding the Skip to Sewers. Thanks to MattMatt for finding Window Skip. Thank you itsLarmy for finding the doorhop. And I want to give a big thanks to whoever has birthed this oddly beautiful category called FAC. After my wife and kids left me due to my psychotic drug addiction I have now found my true purpose in this world. It’s to fuck a cat. If I haven’t mentioned you, thank you. No seriously thank you. Thank you for what? To be frank just reading this and getting to know me and Outlast as a speedgame. This is not just my proudest moment running this game, but in speedrunning in general. Although this is not a perfect time, this is as perfect as I’ll get it to. I have no reason to come back to FAC unless I explicitly say so. As I type this I see...water. Just water on my illuminating on my phone screen. As I typed this I didn’t even realize I was crying. Oh, that’s pathetic. FAC is the best category to bless Outlast.
