So, I think I finally figured out how the whole bottle cap fully works. It just clicked to me that it really just acts like a temporary platform. I've noticed that the better you align Abe with the cap while both are in mid air, the better chance you have puling off that mid air jump you're trying to achieve. For example:
You can pretty much glide with Abe down a cliff when you have the cap around you. That little air stumbling Abe does when you try cap jumping was something I thought this entire time was just some random occurrence and just a way of showing you performed the glitch wrong.
So If this wasn't already noticed by others already, I think a new perspective on how to time cap jumps, gliding, reverse cap jumps and etc is how well you align Abe with a dropped cap.
Oh, it's been a month since you've asked this Samtastic, so I don't know if you figured it out by now or not, but the trick to get the Infinite Roll glitch to work is that you need to have Abe jump multiple times from a specific position before jumping off a ledge.
You ever notice when you're jumping off or towards a ledge, the game auto sweet spots Abe's jumping arch so he can either grab onto a ledge or land on the next platform properly? In that sweetspot area, that's where you need Abe to jump off of. I'll try making another vid to explain what I mean later on today.
Nice to meet yall again. And same here, Shade. I'm actually gonna start practicing this game again right now. Any new tricks found during the summer?
Also, I can finally, after all these years, check out the leader boards (PS4 version), but now I see they're still not even considering my records when I know that shouldn't be the case (Like my 00:00:41 record on Free Fire Zone that's nowhere to be found even when filtering to the "my score" tab only). Is anyone else in the world going through this problem?
Welcome back Shade. hopefully you're ready for the headaches haha
And good luck with that practice Sam. I'm gonna try and get something done for this game this year myself. It's been far too long
Hey qwerku. I noticed in your run that in the beginning of rupture farms you didn't have to pull the lever to open the door. How did that happen? Was it because of your other file save you played on before going onto the next?
Hmm, yea that'd happen to me too when i didnt position myself correctly. With this glitch, you really have to know which kind of jump and where to use your jumps first before correctly executing it. I think the reason why it didnt work for you there is because since you did a hop, Abe's not gonna have much room to actually skid backwards in that area.
What i do in that same area in Monsaic Lines for consistency sake is a stationary skip right as that door closes first, then perform the RCJ glitch. Try practicing that there.
Hmm, It's kinda hard for me to picture the scenario. Able to post a quick vid?
Hmm, it works differently as in how you input it to work? Or you straight up get another glitch in it's place?
Because I found that you can either have Abe skid to the opposite direction near a ledge before he drops a cap or drop a cap first then have Abe skid to the opposite direction more so in mid air and still be able to pull the glitch off.
Edit: Scratch that, I think executing this whole Reverse Cap Jump trick has more to do with where Abe is positioned on a platform once hoping beforehand and where he drops his cap on a ledge area. It's all really confusing figuring out what's really going on here.
Also, Merry Christmas yall haha.
Hmm. Found a neat little trick. You can do a reverse cap jump if you run first, then drop a cap before falling off a cliff, then immediately let go of the run input then immediately run the opposite direction. If done properly, you should be skidding in mid air. At this point, time your run jump. The timing is a little strict, however. (This was edited for a better explanation)
It becomes easier to perform if you do a regular jump beforehand.
Yea, the crashing has been very frequent for me personally. Not even doing any hard glitches yet. Just getting to Stock yards is when I pray the game doesn't crash.
Mudokens just straight up dont follow you and I think it gets worse and more likely to happen the more mudokens are in a room and where you are in camera view. The worst mudoken glitches are when they're still scrubbing floors while you're chanting which will soft lock the game unless you saved beforehand.
The runner up is when they'll react late to your follow command as if they want to get grinned/ shot up haha.
The last glitch is when Mudokens just speed up for no reason when in packs. This becomes a problem when there's a gap you want them to fall through but they'll run so fast that they'll run over it (Something Abe himself can not do by normal means), and the other side of that gap just so happens to have a meat grinder.
It's completely random when these glitches happen as far as I know since I've save stated and I get different scenarios for recreating the same event.
Yea, thinking about joining that Steam life right about now... Its hard keeping the sanity in check with the PS4 killing and crashing my runs for any random reason haha.
Wondering if the mudokens aren't as dumb on Steam than on PS4 as well as that'll save me from a lot of stress.
Man, is the ps4 version the worst version to play on or do i just have a defective copy? I can't even finish a run since my game would crash a lot on Stockyards let alone still not able to check the leaderboards.
I found a significantly easier way to get that ledge Shrykull cancel trick.
As you're running off a ledge, have Abe skid (let go of the thumbstick after running). as you're skidding off a ledge, drop a bottle cap as you're beginning to fall. This will have abe pretty much standing in mid air. While in mid air, chant. And that's that.
Yea, I'm currently trying to plan out my routes to savor shrykull forms throughout all the Zulags and such.
Here's the lever reset glitch in use
...To be honest, I'm not sure this can be used much since its so inconsistent and can get you killed just because it just decides not to work correctly even if you're standing at the same exact spot
Edit: Forgot to mention. You can have Abe facing backwards from a lever to make it easier to perform the lever glitch.
Damn I already found a completely new glitch.
If you checkpoint reset before Abe gets to pull a lever then press the action button again anywhere else in a level, he will zoom back instantanously to pull it again. I have the idea that this could cut a lot of time with that first secret room in Stockyards and some rooms in Zulag for starters.
i'll post a vid in a few
Uh oh, guys... I think I just found a new invincibility glitch haha.
If you do the Reset Chapter glitch while in Shrykull mode, you retain it's invincibility. Full invincibility, too, as in walking over mines and such. The big difference here is that you can actually still save Mudokens while invincible since you're not considered dead here. The glitch will cancel out if you leave a room or do another Shrykull mode, however.
Another thing I found is that if you do the reset chapter glitch while in Shrykull mode, you'll have it infinitely unless you run through those motion sensors, of course.
Yea, with the console version, you really gotta plan out when to use these reset glitches as some are just time wasting. Doesn't help that the PC version runs smoother than the finest silk compared to consoles, too, but what can you do? haha.
Hoping there's a console patch, too. That other lever glitch in Zulag 4 that's through that secret ventilation room is really something awful. And the leaderboards are completely non existent on my end... and of course the occasional Mudoken freezing
Going to be polishing up Para/Scrabania then start streaming full 100% runs myself in the near future, too.
