The elevators are likely on a global timer regardless of if they're active yet, so nah nothing you can do about it
As far as I'm aware, the game supports basically any controller natively, so you're likely giving double inputs with your setup. Could be possible to do the glitch with two input devices if that is the case.
I asked in the discord server and the best I've got is this:
Could also be something like this?
Not much more I can say without seeing it happen
I've never seen that before, do you have video? I might be able to tell what's going wrong.
As far as I'm aware there is no soft lock like that, but sometimes the camera won't follow you in a couple places in city of tears. Maybe that's what you mean?
The "No Major Glitches" subcategory is essentially glitchless, we've just decided on using that as a name instead because there are some very small things used like menu drops (Falling faster by opening the menu) that are a bit of a grey area.
- No
- Just one of you, the host of the game
- Having a timer is required if you want to have load removal. The timer we use can be downloaded from here: https://github.com/LiveSplit/LiveSplit/releases/download/1.7.5/LiveSplit_1.7.5.zip
- There is a splits file you can use here: https://www.speedrun.com/splits/BL2_Splits_x8kyc.zip
- For glitchless you definitely want to have at least one Maya because of cloud kill. Probably optimal to have both of you playing as her, but other characters like Zero or Salvador could work as well. Glitchless is also going to be very extremely dependent on farming good gear. The Lyuda is easily the best gun you can farm for, with the fastball probably being the next best thing you can get.
The team composition for four player used to be Gaige/Axton/Zer0/Maya, but the reasoning for that is sorta not valid anymore with the addition of some new glitches. Now you'll probably want Gaige/Axton/Axton/Maya to be the fastest. For save files the ones in the resources section will work with some small changes. You'll want at least one character to have a perfect muckamuck (Same as the Gaige sniper just Jakobs barrel), and at least one character to have the sniper from the Axton co-op save for crit stacking. Routing will be mostly up to you and your friends to figure out as a team, as there are many options for which character does what stuff without losing time. Although you will want to watch the current record and maybe the 2p record as well for a good idea of stuff to do to be fast.
Nah, with loads is pretty irrelevant
Every stack is -1 ammo consumption, so however many times makes you consume 0 ammo per shot with your current gun
A common mistake is to swap too quickly. Your ammo counter needs to appear in the bottom right when swapping back to the launcher
It's possible to decompile this game and look at the code using any number of swf decompilers, so you could confirm your suspicions that way
There's a guide for any% here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1bljrbYvZ6wAtJ6a_oOAMl2dWiVlUkyfGZBAN4X4Aets/edit#gid=258462873
As for livesplit, there is no working autosplitter for any% so there's no real setup required beyond basic knowledge of how to use the program.
Also, I would recommend at the very least running Any% no OoB if you want a run that is slightly fun. All bosses really is a much better category, though.
Feel free to ask more questions in the discord here: https://discord.gg/ZR7p5Pu
I wouldn't want that on the main boards but I don't see anything against having it on a page similar to this one: http://www.speedrun.com/bl_mc
Nobody is scared of current patch runs being "harder or longer". The fact of the matter is that they just aren't fun. You said yourself you're not a speedrunner and you have no interest in becoming one, and yet you still feel the need to come in here and tell us how to enjoy our hobby. I have tried current patch runs and so have other people, they just have nothing about them to make them preferable to the more active runs.
Not aiming is a problem with Gaige, not anything else. Maybe you would find runs of other characters more enjoyable to watch.
Infinite ammo and crit on current patch are only a thing in co-op. With those you need to get a white rarity launcher of a specific brand, a decent shotgun, and some snipers of any kind. Removing this will make it insanely RNG dependant to the point where nobody would want to run it. Say you get a Lyuda or a Fastball in a vendor. Useless with good glitches, but remove those and suddenly you're 10x more powerful than you could have ever hoped to be with regular weapons.
