Except when your highlights all get muted.
Or when all the links break all of a sudden.
Farming search out to Google is pretty standard. Searching a relational database isn't easy, and that's what most web apps use.
The 3D Zeldas are mostly on ZSR.
Zelda 2 is entirely here, LoZ is split, LttP is mostly there.
Not sure about Game Boy.
All times are welcome as long as they follow the rules. If you're going for a WR you'll want to try to get off of emulator and onto VC, Gamecube, NES, or similar.
But we're doing this for fun. Submit your times even if they're last place. Look at my times in some of the categories. :) Just have fun and track your progress. Compete with yourself.
100% is empty because 100% no up+a is the more popular version.
You're free to run 100% with up+a if you want. I'll gladly accept times, but I'll just copy the 100% no up+a WR onto the 100% up+a board as well to compare the time. :)
It's on the board under Misc. Categories.
Relatedly I'd love to have some categories have load time subtraction, but others not.
For Zelda 2 there's only a few categories (the FDS runs) where subtracting load times even makes sense, and for those it's mandatory for the board to work out.
Interesting work. But I'd suggest if the peak IL figure is 2-3x the peak full run figure, the scaling's a bit off.
Yes, I know that's ¤your¤ point. But to keep the site well functioning you have to avoid making obvious mistakes that would lead to spam problems flooding the system.
Allowing submissions from people who can't be bothered to make an account will just make a ton of extra work for moderators.
Treat missing digits as 9s. 1:00.1 shouldn't be ranked ¤behind¤ 1:00.19
Well ¤in theory¤ you could always pause to keep ointment, hahahahahaha
Game mods who don't know how to time from a video should step down from moderating.
If we really want a board for it I'll add it, but I'm not sure if it's ¤interesting¤ like it is for some games.
Well you'd skip deluge and the long sword.
Of course it's doable, it's just slower.
Only if you see the board as a record of people and not of accomplishments.
Yeah it's not possible. The new WR run by Darbian is frame-perfect using all known human-possible strats through 8-3. It saves every frame without using strats are are effectively TAS-only, like arbitrary wall clips (including the wall clips into the flagpoles). The only time losses are in 8-4 on the turnaround, and in the water.
This sounds weird but the truth is, you can only save time before 8-4 in increments of 20 frames. The game only lets you out of the black screen-transition screens in intervals of 20 frames. If you save 19 frames on the WR in a level, you don't gain any time because the "frame rule" drops you back.
Well considering SMB WRs these days literally come down to frames, its' a huge difference.
VC games run at ~60.002 fps. The actual NES and Famicom run at ~60.098 fps. That sounds small but it means the VC runner will lose about a second, for every ten minutes of gameplay. So for SMB, that means you're losing ~30 frames on a WR-pace run.
Consider that one frame rule is ~20 frames, and the runners are breaking their backs trying to save just that much, in 4-2.
