Hi everyone, other than the games y'all are already running, what games do y'all plan on speedrunning in the future? or at least trying?
I plan on speedrunning many games. I'm on quest to speedrun ALOT of games and get them onto my speedrun profile. Some games I may speedrun more than once and some might become my main speed game like Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Some games I plan on speedrunning are Nightmare Creatures, Mario Party 3, SpongeBob BFBB Rehydrated, Tony Hawk Underground, Scooby Doo Unmasked, Bloody Roar: Primal Fury, Fullmetal Alchemist Curse of the Crimson Elixir, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets(console), and maybe even Phantasy Star Universe!
Hi everyone. I really love getting High Scores in games. Now we all know Pac made a thread in 2018 asking what he should do in getting a High Score Site setup or part of SRC. Now this thread isn't really talking about that but i'm just going to tell y'all what I would like a High Score Site to be like.
Now there are a lot Score Based games out there, like for example Galaga, Pac Man, Pin Ball, and Jet Pac. Even some games like Candy Crush and Angry Birds. But there are also lots of other games with a score based system. Some games have scoring based on performance in a level. Some examples are James Bond Agent Under Fire and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. And some games have specific parts/levels/areas with a scoring system. 1 good example is The Arial Training Level in the Matrix Path of Neo. You get points by attacking enemies and completing rounds. Some attacks give you more points than others. And some games also have mini games or side things like tournaments with scoring systems. A couple examples are the arcade machines at Retroland in Jimmy Neutron Attack of the Twonkies, Verum Rex in Kingdom Hearts 3, and the Arena in CrossCode. Heck, with party type games, like Mario Party for example, depending on the mini game, some mini games in the Mario Party Series could be part of a high score site. Scoring in games in my opinion can be expanded to a lot more different kinds of games with scoring based systems.
Now i'll say real quick, HighScore . com really only have games whose main focus is scores, like Galaga and Donkey Kong. Or at least from what I've seen of the site. I'm sorry if I'm wrong here.
Anyways I'm not saying every single game with a score based system should be accepted onto a High Score site. what i'm really trying to get at is I would like it to have more variety.
What are your guy's thoughts? Also how would y'all like a High Score Site to be?
Hi THUG community. I used to play this game a lot growing up. Now I was never really a "Pro" but I always enjoyed the game. Recently I've watched the World Record History video for Any% a few times and now I'm thinking of speedrunning the game. Although i'll be honest, i'm not going to be doing any form of glitches or tricks. Anyways out of these versions(PS2, 360, Xbox) which one would y'all recommend for controls? I ask that because I always played the GC version in the past but I don't have a working GC now. Also for the kind of runs i'm wanting to do, what other tips could y'all give me?
EDIT: I might do the very simple tricks though like the use of your skateboard where you try to get back the skateboard gear in NJ and the trick where you skitch the thugs car.
@Oreo321 I think they mean The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
Some games are required to have a timer on screen, but a majority of games on the site it isn't required. Although i'm sure there are some games that requires timer if you get a certain place on the leaderboard.
How many full playthroughs or speedruns of a long game(a game that takes the average runner 3 or more hours to complete) did it take you before you were able to memorize everything about the game without problems of forgetting where to go and what to do?
You can if it's watchable!
@burbigo1 Desert Bus is a driving simulator and isn't a game that could be speedrun.
@Laika_the_Spacedog thank you very much for the feedback I really appreciate <3
Hi everyone, I'm currently the only speedrunner for Buffy The Vampire Slayer on original Xbox. And I'm trying my best to inspire others to speedrun the game. Now people who make tip/guide videos usually do normal speedruns while talking about the game in detail but I did it a little differently. Just in case you might have an interest in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, here's a speedrun tips video for the game. Also if you don't mind I would like some feedback on the video please
@Mysticore you ignored my question! 1st off I know that emulator will give an unfair advantage but you ignored the part where I ask if it could be a separate sub category.
Hello moderatos of Gex 3! Now I really want to get into speedrunning Gex 3 Deep Cover Gecko. But I have a few issues. 1st off, I want to start off doing Single Level runs. I want to do single level runs of Mythology on the N64 version but I don't have an N64. I do have a PS2 that I could play the PS1 version on(if that is even allowed) but I really don't like the PS1 version of Mythology and I also don't like the graphics on the PS1 version. Could y'all please at least discuss this with each other? About adding emulators as sub categories? please?
Have you ever had a death during a speedrun that was just so stupid(whether it's from a silly mistake or a certain way an enemy killed you) that it was hilarious to you? Here's 1 stupid but hilarious death when I was speedrunning Resident Evil 4 lol https://twitter.com/PatBarrett1996/status/1211512052965097472

Hi everyone. I'm sorry if this post kind of post isn't allowed. Let me know and i'll delete it right away. Anyways I want to put together a compilations video of funny moments that occurred to you during your speedruns of Resident Evil 4. 2 reasons why i'm wanting to do this, to do something different on my youtube and to also help y'all get out there more. Would anyone be willing to share any clips of funny moments during their speedruns?
Hi, i'm wanting to do a speedrun of a game I've wanted to play for years. Please don't make fun of me. I want to speedrun the Backyardigans game on the DS but I can't find a capture device anywhere on amazon that captures footage from a DS or other hand helds. How does one record footage from a hand held?
I'm going to speedrun the Xbox One version eventually :)
Will y'all please bring them back but just have them on a separate category or leaderboard or whatever? Please?
Hi Road Rash 64 community. BTW no this isn't a post to get the category onto the board :P! I love using my imagination and coming up with my own categories. I would love to hear your opinion on this one. I came up with a category called Big Game, No MORSC(Major Off Road Short Cuts). Now in most runs that I saw I usually see speedrunners going off road and completely driving off course to get to another road farther way closer to the finish line. In this category you are not allowed to do that. Here's whats allowed though. For example, on smaller zig zags, you can stay going straight and get off the road to avoid turning. Also on sharp 90 degree turns, you can go off the road to avoid having to slow down on those hard turns. In my opinion those don't count as major off road shortcuts. I would like your opinions please :)
Hi everyone, I would like your opinions on this, just like the title asks, do y'all thing the Flying Regelia would be useful in a speedrun?
