Yeah, mods of the game will probably not add your new category. However, mods of Undertale Category Extensions might -- you should post your ideas in their forum (and see if it already exists)! https://www.speedrun.com/undertalecategoryextensions

Many popular speedrun games have "Category Extension" pages for new additions like yours. Type it in the search bar and you'll see what I mean!

With a little help from a Chrome extension called Video Speed Controller, I have now finished verifying your run! Honestly right now I have no idea how to classify this, so I'll just put in the final time you had instead of grains. It will probably change over to grains once we figure out how to do that.... Awesome run!

It would be great if subcategories could have their own "Timer Ascending" option that matches the default of their parent category and can be altered to ascending/descending.

For instance, on https://www.speedrun.com/Free_Rice, we want to add an endurance subcategory that uses an ascending timer, but its among other subcategories and a parent category that are descending.

Awesome! I've already watched some of it, and once verified your run will put us from 6 people fed to 8!!!

Still thinking about the best way to submit records. How about this: BINARY DISTRIBUTION!

On speedrun.com you can go up to 999 hours in a submission.

The first run we put as 500 hours The next run we put at either 250 hours if its WR, 750 if its lower than Munch's For the next run after that, we alter the score by 125 based on grain count, and so on...

However, this really isn't scalable to 1000+ runs... And its ridiculous. Forget this was ever an option.

But we need to brainstorm a better method that puts WRs at the top, fast. Or speedrun.com should allow for subcategories to have a "Timer Ascending" option.

There's a rule that will let you take a 9 hour break for sleeping as long as your stream is still running :D

This extension is magical. It works on almost all types of video. You can speed up videos up to 4x and slow them down .5x with sound. Anything beyond those points does not have sound, but will still play video at any speed you select.

Edit: As Perkie says, this tool can alter framerate, and thus reduce accuracy in verification. For modding, use your discretion. Don't speed up videos if you can't follow gameplay or track frame specific moves. Slow back to normal or reduced speeds near splits or critical moments. Its a great tool for finding the exact last frame that ends the speedrun at low playback speed. Slowing down can also be useful for verifying that players aren't using bots -- I have used it several times for this purpose.

K Munch, you will be our first test runner! Make sure to read the updated rules and try to adhere to those as best as possible, also factoring in Warrior's additions. There are a lot of things that might change though... still not sure about timing rules, added recording rules, time input when submitting, etc. -- expect a short delay in verification until the rules are cleared up.

Endurance added! Trying to figure out rules now...

I'm thinking, instead of a 2 hour limit, we have no limit on how long people can run. They can do any categories they please and just have to keep going. We'd have a rule saying that you can't be afk for a certain period of time. Something like that.

Still need more input from everyone on how this coudl be implemented...

What does this mean?!

Well! It looks like they are changing the user interface to make the experience nicer on computers and phones at some point. YAY! I will be sure to keep you in the loop when they share the big news.

It's possible that a few of the rules we have set could change based on how they change the interface in the future. The mods will reconsider each rule carefully and ask for community feedback if there are any big changes necessary. For now, let's just see what happens!

Cheers to all of you who have run this game. As a community, we have made a huge difference! I can't wait to see how this channel will grow over the next year. Thank you for your runs for rice!

Nice idea! Can you comment a few links of other channels doing this so we can get more feedback? If others express interest, we could definitely try something!

Hey Dig! Try using one of these:

• The S7's Game Launcher's Game Tools' Recorder (that's a mouthful lol)
• DU Recorder
• Game Screen Recorder

Any of those three should work for recording without lag. However, since LiveSplit is currently a fullscreen mobile application meant for assisting with console or PC runs, I don't think you can run a mobile game with LiveSplit running on mobile as well.

To time, it might be best to use "Floating Timer" or an app like that over the game. Alternatively, you could open LiveSplit on your computer and split as you play.

It might be good to come together as a community and ask LiveSplit to make an app that can be used during mobile speedruns. I submitted this on their idea page -- it would be awesome if we could get it upvoted!

On one hand, it would be great to have a complete RNG run. On the other hand, its good to save time with tab-switching. Most runs start off with an answer to the first question in mind, anyway, so its not that far of a stretch for category switching. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
