Incredible run!

It seems that wiping the save causes a glitch in which:

• Weapons are not upgradable
• The driving part of the heist is only a straight road
• Energy for power-ups is always full

Not sure why this is, but it's definitely useful for shaving off some time in Any%. I don't think it should be allowed for 100% since you can't upgrade weapons.

True and also google chrome extensions like Ruffle and Supernova Player help. I've now been able to play games on the Wayback Machine as well as other sites that currently host Flash games. Also found a rather simple chrome extension called Screen Recorder that makes recording webgame runs easier than ever. So yes, maybe the community is dead, but the games are not. Let's just wait X number of years for some random revival wave. We know its coming :))

For anyone trying to add games to this series in 2022 onward, There was some drama with current site staff and a user that was series modding several games. MOUTHWEST and I were demodded along with that other user and were told that this series does not need moderators. Any game you want added to this series should go through site staff, unless mods are added back to this game.

This leaderboard should not accept images as proof for records above a certain cut-off. Especially the world record, which is currently an Imgur image. I would say that scores beyond 10,000 or something should have video proof.

Reason is that recording on mobile is incredibly easy and can be done on most devices. An image can be taken from online or altered for a desired result. Video proof with full gameplay and audio is valid for claiming high records, and it's unfair to players who provide it while others do not. As many people in the larger speedrunning community say, "no vid, no did."

As a devil's advocate to all the devil's advocates, a mobile app is a great idea if the company grows and has the resources for it. Fixing mobile layout would be a good thing to tackle first, but there's a reason why ten million people use the Dominoes pizza app instead of ordering off their mobile webpage. If you think of submitting a run like submitting an order for food on an app, think about how much easier the experience would be.

Then again, this is coming from someone who uses mobile webpages to access facebook, linkedin, and instagram instead of using the apps. Still, that's mostly because those apps are designed to have an addictive appeal. Mobile sites are so clunky that it makes me care less about checking notifications and all that jazz haha

The simple truth (based on my singular source lol) is that people spend more time in apps. They can be optimized and customized for a great user experience that keeps people coming back, which means that ELO gets more users, more usage data, more ads out, and therefore, more money to support site staff and growth. From a business standpoint, it is not a bad decision to hire an app developer to create a better mobile experience, especially because younger users who join the site expect a great mobile experience.

Still, a good app requires a good dev team, and that takes scouting, resources, cultural fit, and a lot more that users take for granted.

Yeah Website Speedrunning Discord is pretty dead right now since Flash games died. @Reverse Let me know if you have ideas on how to resurrect it!

Edit in response to the next three comments: I checked, my settings are on alphabetical and the games are not auto-sorted alphabetically when I follow a new game. Since others are reporting this bug, I'll send in a formal bug report.

On Samsung S7, I use the native recording app, Game Screen Recorder, or DU Recorder to record my games. Each has its perks. For the timer, I use a simple app called Floating Speedrun Timer. It can get in the way of your playing, so make sure its in a good spot before you start recording.

On Amazon Kindle, I use SmartPixel to record, upload to Facebook, download, and add a timer in a video editing software called ShotCut. I'm not sure if this specific game is on that device, though.

This game isn't the easiest to make categories for because of the way it's designed. I can add more categories for beating Pete at various depths. We could also add depths as individual levels. Not sure it's necessary to do so.

Please consider adding a button for the rules to be shown on the edit run page and the Moderation Hub.

This will help users submitting and reviewing runs to have easier access to the rules instead of having to open a new tab and review them from the main leaderboard.
