You should probably ask this in the forums of Trap Adventure 2: https://www.speedrun.com/ta2/forum Maybe they can help you better than the general community here.
In some of the Discord servers of games I moderate, we have a hidden "mod chat" channel which is open only to moderators. That way it is possible to contact and talk to all moderators in an easy way.
But I agree this is needed on the site as well, not all games or users have Discord.
There isn't really a rule against requesting MMORPGs. But all games must have some sort of end goal, otherwise any category you create for the game will be arbitrary.
Also, the fact that you saw WOW on this site means nothing. Some of the game request rules became more strict over time, so games which were accepted before might not be accepted today.
It has been found that the game version on the website "engineering.com" is different than the others, with different physics. Full-game runs which are done on engineering.com, now have their own leaderboards in the relevant subcategory.
For ILs: Only runs which are done on the engineering.com version or Mobile version are allowed. Those two are the only versions which contain an in-game timer in their settings. The in-game timer must be enabled in the settings, and be visible on the screen. Time to submit is what shown on the in-game timer, when the level is completed.
Any previous runs which were done without an in-game timer (whether on Mobile or other sites) are preserved and kept on the leaderboard under Mobile. BUT, runs like that won't be accepted anymore. So, if you play on Kongregate, Armor Games or coolmathgames - you can only run full-game categories.
Another rule change - the game audio is no longer required in IL runs (but is still required in full-game runs).
I'm sure there was a very recent thread with the same question, but I can't find it. First you should read the moderation-rules in the knowledge base, and act accordingly to them.
I found this old thread that can give several tips on setting up a new leaderboard, setting up an optional theme, and the moderating part: https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/qkvjz
I would add that you should have good knowledge of the games you are moderating and their rules; so you could be able to verify runs, and help other people if they have any questions or problems. You should have at least one speedrun in games you moderate.
As for "mod-farming" - you should moderate games because you care about them, or in some games because "no else will do it"; but don't try to get moderator for games just to buff your number of games.
I see the coin icons just fine on the game page. This happened to me as well before; you just have to be patient and wait some more, you will see the new icons eventually.

O.D.W. He did a speedrun. Taking shortcuts is allowed and encouraged.
