I usually wait until I have a few attempts under my belt before I even submit a run. When you start running a game you generally have a period of a wild variation of time improvements, which usually results in getting PBs by several minutes at times.
There's nothing preventing you from submitting a run any time as long as you're comfortable with the time you got (well, unless otherwise stated by the game's mods), but I really suggest giving it a few more tries before doing so, as I suspect you'll get noticeably closer to the other runners. :)

@1 It stands for "Virtual Youtuber". Basically, it's all those youtubers that resort to using 2D/3D animated avatars instead of showing themselves on a camera. They gained a lot of popularity during the last year.
And here I was wondering why I still have all my lowly WRs. You had me worried!
If we're truly playing the combination game, surely this wins the cake though: https://www.speedrun.com/mcce
The whole leaderboard is a complete eye-sore for me, but it does fit the bill for this LUL
Does this count? It'd be 26 "categories" if it does
Ivory you are a hero you made the 25 Page of this Thread!!
I gotta agree with @Timmiluvs on this one. Leaving emulators unchecked can bring some major headaches down the road.
I don't think you need to outright disallow emulators, but doing some tests to see if they're consistent with load times, frame cap and overall speed of the game seems like the best course of action for the time being. :)
Ok, maybe I should have made it clearer where I was going with that question. LUL
Have you guys done tests on the emulator and found it was accurate to the PS3 in terms of load times and whatnot, or was it just a decision you made to open the gates for more runners, no matter the inaccuracies?
