I mean it is appropriate to have critiquing sometimes if it is reasonable but sometimes there are just kind of people critiquing other people without understanding the whole thing. Guess I should have explained more clear
If you feel someone's critiquing you without full knowledge of your intention or about the situation in general, you can either just ignore them or, if you feel like it, you can try and explain things to them so that they can see what you see. I agree that most conflict derives from misunderstandings, so talking to people to sort things out most of the times helps solve issues.

That being said, some people are impervious to logic and reason at times, so ignoring them might be the best course of action here. If it's not something you can do and it's taking a toll on your psyche (which by reading your post I surmise it does) then perhaps you might want to take a break from all this.

Save for a select few, speedrunning is not our job or our livelihood, but rather a hobby. In that sense, it's not worth losing years of your lifespan and your mental health over it. If you eventually find yourself back on your feet again, you can always come back. :)

Good luck!

I'm not gonna pretend this wasn't entertaining to read guys, but surely we can lock this thread by now? There's not much else to discuss here, the "issue" has already been resolved.
@fodell You don’t mod any games.
That's because that post is an exact replica of a post @shinuu made on this very thread a while back (you can find it on the first page).

...and by exact replica I mean word-for-word.

The bottom line here is: it doesn't matter the exact amount of games for which you're currently a mod, but rather whether you're contributing to said games' leaderboards in a meaningful way, be it verifying runs, setting up the categories or writing rules/guides for the game.

People normally tend to frown upon people with a lot of mod roles (given that normally it's hard to keep up with too many speedgames at once), but if the games you're moderating aren't too active and you care for them and can actually manage them properly, it's not inherently wrong.

If you know it in your heart that you're not collecting mod roles for meaningless "internet points" then you should pay no heed to those accusations, as you know them to be false. Best of luck.

I don't personally do VR speedruns (I don't have the rig required to do so), but Job Simulator looks like a blast and you do it all in one spot, so that might be up your alley.

Nowadays I just stick with OBS, but I did use NVidia Shadowplay in the past (and going waaay back, I did use Unregistered Hypercam 2 at some point LUL ). The only real reason I switched from Shadowplay to OBS is the sheer amount of plugins the latter has.

Performance-wise, Shadowplay was pretty darn good, but I had no way to make a customized layout for my videos, so eventually I just had to ditch it. Hopefully in the future they add something of the sort.

Just for future reference, the OP was actually a bot and it was just posting an exact copy of another post on r/speedrun.

Well, we're certainly in a site themed around speedruns, so I guess it's just in their hearts to apply that speed to everything they do

Changelog for v1.1.0: • Added support for DuckStation! Supports both the NoGUI version and the QT Front-End version.

Changelog for v1.1.1: • Fixed an issue that wouldn't let the Auto-Splitter run for anything other than RetroArch or DuckStation.

Changelog for v1.1.2: • Load Remover module now takes into account most (if not all) pure black screens as part of load times.

Changelog for v1.1.3: • Fixed RetroArch compatibility, now it works identically to DuckStation's compatibility (and should work regardless of new changes in future versions of the emulator).

Sometimes it's really hard to tell if someone's being sarcastic/just joking through the internet, given that intonation and body language are normally part of the equation and we don't get to see that through here for obvious reasons.

That's not to say you can't joke on a post (95% of my posts are just memeing), but perhaps in the future you might want to make the claim a bit more outrageous so as to make it clear you are not being serious. Hope everything turns out ok!

If we're being strictly technical, the thread isn't exactly about bumping this thread, but rather a question about bumping your own threads in general, in which case you could consider random periodic bumps as spam (unless they brought new information about said question to the table).

Furthermore, if there was a thread that existed for the sole purpose of being bumped, we'd also have to ask ourselves what the purpose of it really is. However, as we are in the Talk section and there've already been quite a few pointless threads in the past, it's highly unlikely you'd see any issues here (and I personally don't have any myself either).
