I have the same graphics card as you, but I use an i5 processor. Regardless, the NVidia control panel settings I use are: Power Management Mode - Prefer Maximum Performance Threaded Optimisation - Auto Triple Buffering - On Vertical Sync - On
I occasionally get some very slight frame drops but overall its barely noticeable. Outside of this I'm not really sure what you can do to improve the games performance outside of messing with the shadow resolution/AA settings in the launcher.
Because it's dumb?
The moderation for Galaxy and Galaxy 2 is fine as is, me and 1ups are the most active, and both of us check the site to verify runs every couple of days, although we were both away for the last week so there was a bit of a backlog. If a site mod wants to disagree with how we're handling it then ok, but I think we're doing fine as is.
While it's not the neatest way of doing it, AM2R could fit as a Metroid 2 rom hack, which allows it a place in the boards without being on the series page.
In addition to being able to set order within a year, are there any plans for full custom ordering or being able to visually split a series into multiple parts? For an ordering example, in Final Fantasy, FF4 Interlude makes more sense between FF4 and FF5, instead of being between FF13 and FF13-2. As for splitting series, it would make it a lot easier to find games in the Mario series if you could split up the original platformers, the GBA/DS remakes, the 3D platformers, and the New SMB series. While they all still belong to Mario, there are a lot of games on that page, and using box art works, but can still take a lot of time to find the specific game you want.
For now, I've moved the empty categories into misc, feel free to use this area for planning new runs/relays, but leave them in misc until they have at least one run in them, else its just cluttering the leaderboards with empty pages.
So now that most of us have got back from the event, feel free to use this thread as a place for items you either have by accident that belong to someone else, or you've lost something that you took with you.
I lost my wii nunchuck at the event, it its labelled with my icon (and possibly my name also), so it should be clear if its mine. Someone borrowed it a couple of days in and I forgot to get it back on the last day, so if anyone knows where it is. (I totally spaced on checking the box full of stuff on the last day when I went in also lol. I'll pay for the shipping to get it returned from whoever has it now)
To clarify for FF13, It will be 2 boss fights that will be up for blindfolded. The second should have a higher donation goal than the first. They're fairly close to each other, between 4 and 5 hours into the run.
While you can add any game you want, this is more requesting for the ability to have high score leaderboards, not just time leaderboards, which are something the site doesn't currently offer. However I don't know if its something that is planned to be added or not.
Final Fantasy XIII: Blindfolded fights I will do 1 (or possibly more, working on consistency) Boss fight(s) blindfolded. The amount can be pretty high, and if I end up doing more, each one could be a separate incentive. (The fights are all past the halfway point of the run, so it could be opened during the run or left running for the whole marathon)
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Character/Town Names Each of the 4 characters, and the Town, need a name. All names are 7 chars, in Roman letters, Hiragana or Katakana. Ideally each one would be an individual bid war, with the highest of each being chosen for the run. It can be open from the start of the marathon.
What's the commentary/couch setup like for PC runs this year? As in, how many people will we be able to have sensibly around the screen for commentary etc.
Also, for Ty the Tasmanian Tiger, I should be able to cover commentary mostly on my own, Dizzy has already offered to help out, but also if someone else wants to be on the couch for it, or even learn a bit of the run then that's fine with me. Just let me know before or at the event so we can sort it out.
Ty estimate can be dropped by 10 minutes, I was leaving it high for a possible donation incentive, but it's not something I want to do anymore.
FF13 can be dropped to 5:30 I guess, I want to leave it high partly for a donation incentive idea (blindfolded fights), but also leaving it open a bit just in case we run into issues running the game and it ends up being laggy in places or I have to use console.
On the subject of donation incentives though, how are those being handled if at all this year, there's been very little mention of them being a thing.
No offence, but the point of this site is to allow different communities to hold their leaderboards and set them up how they want to. Even if you think its a bad way of dealing with it, it's how the community wants to proceed, and that's all that should matter here.
Paid (I think, not sure if I messed up the paypal)
Will it be possible to play SD games (Wii/GCN) on a flatscreen for those of us who are used to using one instead of a CRT, or will it be CRTs only for those consoles?
