I don't run the game but very interested in getting into it soon enough, But I would like to say that you effectively should not skip payable content because the content is timed. The equivalent to this for other games would be any auto scroller sequences as an example. The mission should be played because it effectively could be the make or break in a run if you don't last long enough on the mission to actually complete it. and it would technically break up the RTA unofficially because you'd be segmenting it with the removal of a mission that normally would be required to advance to the following mission.
Plenty of others reasons against skipping it that others have pointed out as well, which I agree on for the legitimacy sake or RTA / full runs in general.
Toronto area is a very decent location to have as its a pretty big hub and has allot of venue choices that could be available depending on the dates the event would be held around. Generally easy to travel to or from even if far out from the location since it is more of a hub city, could always choose another venue the boarders the area that is still connected to transit from the Toronto area. Generally okay with anything the boarders NA or CAN anything to far from there is most likely not within easy means of travel or cost wise to get to.
I never did get my own feed back for the event so here it is;
PROS: Decently cheap and comfortable rooming if you could get others to share with you. Staff did very nice job with sorting out the initial issues as best they could and keep the stream running as smoothly as possible. Decent distance from restaurants and other convenient locations for attendees during the morning or afternoon. Venue choice was easy to get to being close to major transit which is always a plus. Morning breakfast that was part of the group booking was decent. Very relaxed environment for the majority and greatly enjoyed the company and meeting of the many attendees and the staff as well.
CONS: Stream room was a too small 50 occupant capacity is too small, should try for a room that could fit 100 comfortably with the equipment and better conditioning as it got pretty hot at times. Would have been nicer to have the practice room closer to the stream room but still was not that bad. Lack of free water to keep attendees hydrated because the rooms were like ovens sometimes. Lack of night places to go to for food or other conveniences. No actual private lounge area to keep the stream and practice room free from other random stuff people wished to do. Lack of HDTV's that could be double as extra monitors for practice use. Was hard to enjoy the run as a spectator at the event if you were not in the front rows, I suggest a area to set up a way to show the stream perhaps in the stream room from over head or behind the runner/set up area. Should try to run more on the side events for others to do that are not doing runs either on stream or practice. Better badges and ones that differentiate Staff, Volunteers,Runners and or spectators.?
I probably could say more if I can think of it I will post more. Thank you again for the opportunity and privilege to be part fo the event and help out when I could. Look forward to next time.

NieR: Automata - Leader-board update!
Rules for all categories have been updated please read the rules over. Major change was to when runs now end. For Route A: Timer stops when you lose control of 2B and the transition to the last cutscene starts. For Route B: Timer stops when 2B walks over to you and the transition to the last cutscene starts. For Route C/D: Timer stops when you lose control and the transition to the last cutscene starts.
New Category. Prologue% : ~ Played from New Game completing the prologue ~
That is all for the major things, but please take time to go over the categories you are running or plan to run as many of the rules were cleaned up or rewritten for clarity sake.

NieR: Automata is a relatively new game and has a growing community, it's a fast fun game to play and allot of tech that can be learned with some variance in how comfortable you are with strats. having full customization of controls is also a plus regardless of platform.
Latest patches for regions/platforms; PS4 JPN ver 1.08 PS4 NA ver 1.06 PS4 EUR ver 1.06 PC ver 1.01
Regardless of what version of what the latest patch all platforms are on the same patches currently.
So proud to announce that the NASA Marathon schedule is up. Both NieR (2010) and NieR: Automata will be played at the event during the NieR Block. I will be running NG+ for NieR, and Any% Story for Onechanbara Z2: Chaos. Trineas will be running NieR: Automata at the event as well.
I was asked about doing the 4 hour + Any% run for NieR (2010), and got Automata in instead, Trineas will be running it instead of me. It will be interesting since at the event he will be doing the PS4 version that I'm bringing up with me. If we can somehow manage to get a second system besides mine at the event, there is a slight chance that It could end up becoming a Race between us.
Anyways Super excited about that happening, Trineas was not even suppose to run nor was it actually submitted so that's great. You can see the Full schedule at the website link below; https://nasamarathon.com/schedule/

Been awhile Since I posted but I'm still running this game. I will be running this game for NASA 2017 between 21st to 27th of May, along with NieR (2010) as well so If you'd like to see either of the games played make sure to keep up with NASA news here on the forums and join the discord for that.
I am going to be re-writing my Guide for the current Route and working on the NG+ section with my upcoming NASA participation where I'll be running the game during 21st to 27th of May.
After I get that done I'll be able to share it openly for those interested in the older game.
Allot of interesting and fun stuff is going on with Automata and we have a growing community around that game currently as It's a very great game in comparison as it has taken allot of pointers from the previous one.
Join and check out out the Automata community if your interested in learning either games I am active within them both, and will be shifting a bit more focus to Automata after May.

The Glitchless Main Category is now up for Route A currently. Within the rules we have defined what we consider part of that run within the community. All runs still conform to the base rules that were created originally for Any% Route A.
There is allot of current discussion that is more commonly found in the Discord; If your interested in knowing more or keeping up to date with changes and discussion please join us there; https://discord.gg/TzAt9zf
We have been discussion a glitchless category set to be added hopefully soon and have more established defining for that. It will be a nice stepping stone for people start with with as learning the games basics and general combat is where most of any of the runs will see major improvements. Before heading into learning the skips and glitches that other wise sequence break the game.
Characters can be set as a category later but it's easier to just use it as a filter.
