The goal of the 100% (IL) category, is to fully complete the level (exception being levels with secret exits that operate under different, but similar rules). If you beat a level using nabbit you dont actually/fully complete it. If you really wanna run 100% ILs, use a character that actually requires skill Keepo
100% does not mean all star coins. It means complete everything in the game. If you beat a level as nabbit, you don’t actually complete the level. It’s just like if you use Super Guide in nsmbw, you don’t actually beat it.
And it’s the 100% category, so why would it get accepted if the game doesn’t count it?
Also, like Nate said, you can’t change the name of a category for just one character. Doing so changes it for all characters, which isn’t gonna happen because once again, 100% ≠ just all star coins.
You can't remove just one category from an IL, doing so would remove it from all levels and both any% and 100% IL categories.
Thats not how it works. The game still doesn’t count using nabbit as actually completing the level. This makes your run invalid as you didn’t technically 100% it.
I would also like to point out that it is impossible to get some star coins with nabbit.
I'm pretty sure DeSmuME is the the only emu thats allowed. According to Walrus, "there's a setting in DeSmuME called 'Bus-Level Timing' that you need to turn off for the overworlds not to be super laggy." Personally I would recommend running on your DSi, if you join the discord we can help you find a good way to record with a phone/camera or something. If you do end up running on emu, that setting should help. Gl with your runs either way!
I may be a bit biased from nsmbw but i think B would be a better option.
I did a run of 100% (and by extent any%) but idk what version it's on and since streamlabs didn't actually record the gameplay I only have the audio of it (its uploading rn, I can link it if needed). I was wondering if a 100% category could be made where timing starts on selecting New Game and ends after hitting the flag on the second hidden level. Either that or you do the hidden stages first (timing starts on clicking the first one you do) and ends like any%.
I also need to know what version I'm on, so how do you check that? And if I have too high of a version, can a category/subcategory be made for newer versions?
ILs like these just shouldnt be ran imo. no matter what you do you end up in a situation where the rules dont directly apply. and with a "front door"/"back door" category, you would then add those to every single IL.
For any% at least id say the only useful backups are if they get hit after grabbing prop back in 8-A and have to grab the one before where we normally do cannonball triple, and the one in escape. The other one in 8-A is awkward to grab, and the red coin ring one is super slow. As for 5-3, chances are a new runner wouldn’t make it through the level without getting hit unless they learned some movement for it.
I direct you guys to my earlier post in this thread.
Also, YOU DON’T NEED A SPECIFIC CATEGORY TO DO THIS. You can run ILs and IWs low%, then submit them to the main boards.
First of all, you dont need to respond to a thread from 2 years ago. Second of all, it's entirely personal preference, neither controller has an advantage over the other.
No, it creates an advantage for runners who do not have sub-25s, and it is still an unofficial release.
You can always go back to 1-1, but there are backups in 5-3 and 8-A, as well as the one in the middle of escape in 8-C.
"but my phone can't even record longer than 10 mins." If you stream to twitch either through the mobile app, the streamlabs mobile app, or the method of connecting your phone to a pc/laptop. It only takes up the storage of the app and as long as you have past broadcasts set to save, you can highlight your runs and submit them. Or you could just submit to the no video boards.
Also, if it were a bug, it would need to be brought up on the bug report thread on the main forums for it to be seen by the site admins (most likely).
Ok at this point it just seems like you're asking for categories that only you will run so that you can have a free wr.
No. Already suggested in the discord, already rejected for being a stupid category.
IMO this should not be added (even to the CE sheet) because it's just any% cut in half. Any% will be optimized to the point where it's worth it to go for those strats anyways.
"Not to mention it could be very good practice for players who are yet to learn the entire game," this seems like an easy way out to avoid learning stuff like elevator skip.
Also, this would need to be added to NSLUDX as well. This would be by far the most boring category. The only major thing in that would be Left Side Tower Skip.
no. this has already been suggested and rejected.
