You can say that about the skip at the end too. In this case I'm pretty sure the RNG is much less likely to work out.

This is something we knew but as you say is incredibly RNG-dependent and a whole lot more frustrating than the bird skip at the end of the level.

I am confused. Unless I'm thinking of Thwomp's Castle entry, I'm pretty sure that FLUDD should not have been there yet.

The inputs? There's nothing much to say, really. It is a lot easier if you press reset at the beginning of the level because then the checkpoint hitboxes decrease and you won't lose the lever effect, and so from the start, make sure you don't hit any checkpoints before the cannon. Then, when it points over to the left, shoot and, well, avoid all the everything. I can't really explain the inputs, sorry. But for the last bit, hop onto the last platform (still don't hit any checkpoints) and just jump over the wall. You'll have to do a wall jump but you can make it over easily. I'll ask Daedlus if I said anything wrong since he knows better than me, and feel free to tell me if that wasn't even what you were asking for at all OpieOP

I do have a disc, but that's not really a great reason to ban it, to be completely honest. Emulator, sure. But this particular release is official, not a ROM you just download and play on an inaccurate program on a PC.

I was playing a lot the past week and got really addicted to slide grinding. I had no idea of the setup you used, but then I saw some other slides and had not seen a 14. I thought it may be a good idea to show you very consistent way to get 14s, for those who are bothered enough:
