Welcome! Many people - including myself - advise running games you enjoy casually. If you want to speedrun a game, you will spend a lot of time with it and if it's a game you don't really like it will most likely not be fun. Whatever game(s) you chose: good luck on your runs!

Welcome. I also found new friends and people to talk to through speedrunning and I really like that. Best of luck on your runs. Any idea yet what you wanna run? (Also, your English is perfectly fine in my opinion.)
Welcome! Oh, I imagine Black Mesa to be an interesting run. Best of luck on your runs. Nice profile picture, the background looks familiar. ;)

Is it required / advised to wait the 21 days before contacting inactive mods via off-site contact?
Hi there and welcome! You don't need to be "good" to be a speedrunner. All you need is to run games. It doesn't matter how well you do compared to others. Many people love the friendly competition and try their best to get better but that's not a requirement to call yourself a speedrunner. It really doesn't matter how long it takes you to beat Super Mario Bros., running games is the only thing that matters. If you ever try running games I wish you the best of luck and if you have any question feel free to message me.
Welcome! Have you thought about recording with your phone if you have one with a camera? Most communities allow it as long as the quality is decent. Good luck on your runs.
Welcome! Good luck on your runs.
I guess that's up to you? If you haven't played a game in forever it can surely help to play it again casually. Although a speedrun might have a different route than a casual playthrough.
Welcome! What tips are you looking for exactly? What games to run? What equipment to use? Good luck on your runs!
