Would be good, just paste YouTube links here, I'll upload private copies before hand and maybe do some commentary on them, but not 100% when yet, been called out of town this weekend but I should be able to do some tonightish
Alrightly, I'll download Sony Vegetable and get on it
So, I plan on taking YouTube videos that have no casting, chopping them up into specific levels for individual characters. Then hopefully adding commentary and explaining why they're doing it the way they are.
Would that work for showing people basic strats? Also, I'd upload any video that gets sent to me also if it has commentary.
https://steamcommunity.com/id/chocolatecheese Contact me there if you want to discuss it.
Not sure why I haven't touched this game in awhile, I've really got to invest my time into learning it, but for now I am occupied for the foreseeable future with job hunting EU4 (Steam friends will get it). Until I get a time I guess I'll be practicing my strats.
I have graduation on Friday(18th my time), on the Saturday assuming I can read up some strats I'll run on Saturday and may stream tomorrow when I get home. We'll see how it goes.
Sorry I didn't end up making it, I died from a headache and such, hopefully it was a good race since I was out of it all day.
I haven't really touched the game since the last race, the lack of streams being live has kinda put me off, but I might as well try pick it up, however this weekend "would" suit me if it wasn't for me being so bloody tired, but I guess I'd be down next weekend assuming I don't hear back from a job or anything, anyway to that extent I may have to go off and learn a few of the strats. Anyway, post here if you're keen for another one, and if we get enough hype we can work out some times to suit everyone between work and school.
Well even if I dropped out before finishing it, I found it to be an enjoyable race, and hopefully I'll get some more practice on levels such as Marge for the next race I decide to take part in, not entirely sure if I'll take part in next weeks one. Might take a misss and just practice till I'm certain I can run properly.
Contrags to Bill for winning the race Kappa. But thanks for taking part and such everyone who did and sorry for dropping out <3
It should work between all EXEs so long as they're not changing anything to do with how the variable is started, if you found a static pointer to the loading variable it should work across all copies.
Just made a group with people I have on my friends list, send me a Skype message if you're not in it and I'll add you.
I don't mind for either, I was just saying that if people are steaming TeamSpeak offers higher quality voice. But I'd want this to be easy, not a pain for everyone to get setup.
I feel you Snerck_, but evne though I am labeling this as a race, don't think of it as if you come last you loose, I am wanting to do these to inspire new people that want to run the game, or so people can sit it out and watch for routes and such, just as a social way to run the game :).
Hope things go well by the way Jamania and I'll look forward to seeing you in the next race.
It's all good Derek, you'll probably still beat my Lisa :/ I suck.
Finally, Mr Mango thanks for confirming this, looks like it'll be about 12amish my time, I'll be on Skype, so in about 8ish hours either everyone join my TeamSpeak (125.239.191.68) or if you'd rather Skype my username is Not.The.Cookie.Monster, majority wins, so if more are on TeamSpeak, you'll have to join it as well, if more on Skype the same goes.
P.S: To people who are wondering why I'm not doing Mumble, the setup is a tad to difficult since TeamSpeak is fast clean and easy to know what's going on, not to mention permissions are already configured if I need to ban or kick anyone being a dick :). Sorry for the wall of text, look forward to seeing ya'll in 8 hours :D.
Alright, it's Friday here, so I am guessing it'll be Sunday my time to be Saturday your time, Foreboding Mango, can you shoot me a Steam message to let me know when you're ready to go for UK time zones?
2PM London == 1AM My Time, but I'm fine with that, I finally got some well needed sleep last night.
Anyway, I guess we have 2 days till it, I got some friend request on Skype last night, I've setup the TeamSpeak server for everyone and will send out my IP to everyone on Skype tomorrow, (We're using TeamSpeak because it's more HQ than Skype for those who are going to be streaming)
Not.The.Cookie.Monster is my Skype, add me, I'll set up a TeamSpeak tomorrow night and such, and then on Friday/Saturday I'll do one last check in, post the TeamSpeak info here, then as people join we'll wait for everyone that checked in, once that happens we'll start the race :D
Nice to see this gaining some speed, I have a TeamSpeak server available for us if we want to use that, or if we'd rather mumble because we're all about FOSS here, I'm all good with that. Since you guys are all in the same timelineish area judging by the location you've specified, we'll have to work out a time, at the time of me posting this it is 3PM, I am GMT+12, so yeah, what times would suit peeps
Hey everyone, Acklay here.
I was just wondering this coming weekend (23rd) how many people would be up for a "race" of sorts, where all runners of this game hop on a Skype call and stream while running this game? We can discuss a time, and if this weekend isn't good for anyone, we can talk about times and such.
Would be nice to see it, then any other new runners wouldn't feel scared about getting into this game and just to have a hell of a time like a good old LAN party but over the web.
Thanks Mango, I might give that a try next time I launch it, I am just picking up this game for speed running :) So yeap.
Also LegoMarioFanatic, I am only talking about to derail this thread... I mean I am only taking about it because I always thought it increased loading times. But alas no, I haven't ran this at all yet still learning routes for the base game.
Wouldn't load times take a hit? I always assumed uncapped frames = faster load times.
