Ratchet: Deadlocked "NG+ Any% (Couch Potato)" in 59:31 by Skritler Not on speedrun.com as of posting this.

Ratchet: Deadlocked is a fun Halo-style Ratchet and Clank game. The goal for each level is to make it to the end, complete an objective, or defeat a boss. In NG+ runs, you load a file that is already complete with maxed weapons (all level 999). This helps out to breeze through the game as fast as possible. There are a lot of very cool movement techniques. When you do certain things before a jump, you are able to maintain momentum very well. Getting a low time in this game takes a lot of practice. Skritler has been grinding out runs of this game for a long long time. This is the first ever sub 1 hour time in this game! There were no major mistakes in this run, finally. If you haven't seen this game yet, find somebody who runs it still or watch this run! It deviates from the classic Ratchet and Clank experience, but it works out really well as its own genre.

Can I help mod this as well? I won't remove any categories, but I will add relevant ones. My plan is to keep the 4 categories that are popular, but add the centurian bosses to the level leaderboard, and make that the default view. I've already done a run of Defeat Omeet https://splits.io/a61 I don't want this in "Map 100" because the game never mentions the word Map and I find it arbitrary to pick random numbers like 50 and 100. But since it's been raced, I won't rid the site of those. So yeah, it's about time this game had some real categories. TOTOzigemm and I will be trying to do runs of Lagomorph. It won't be easy, might take around a week and a bit, but we will try.

Donkey Kong 64 "No Levels Early" in 2:13:05 by 2dos http://www.speedrun.com/run/9mr4p22z

Donkey Kong 64 is a very interesting speedgame. Not only is it extremely broken and glitchy, but you can really create your own route that suits your skill level. Being one of the few top players for this game, 2dos uses a very risky route that saves time over many other runners. There are a few runners that are right on 2dos' tail in both 101% and NLE, but I'm certain that he will be right back on the grind if his time gets beat. 2dos is a very dedicated speedrunner. He doesn't play many other games besides DK64. He plays some Splatoon and he runs some other games here and there, but DK64 is clearly his primary focus. He has been speedrunning this game very consistently for well over 2 years. His drive is absolutely incredible. There's not much I want to say about his 2:13:05 specifically, as I know he will be back soon to improve it (that's what he always does) but I do want to put the spotlight on this guy. If you're looking for an entertaining streamer playing DK64, this is absolutely the guy to watch.

10 Second Ninja "Hard Mode" in 2:14.92 (134.92) by Bloodymary http://www.speedrun.com/run/2yw0o9nm

Incredible. This game gives you 10 seconds to defeat each level. There are 5 worlds with 8 levels each. Every level has a very difficult route to pull off. The basis of the game is you need to defeat each robot in each level. You may use your sword as many times as you want, but you only get 3 shurikens per level. Routing levels is surprisingly the easy part. It may seem like you have a lot of options of where to go and where to throw your shurikens, but only a few routes are fast for each level. Memorization is the second hardest part of speedrunning this. The moment you finish one level in Hard Mode, it throws you into the next level. You have to remember the level order or you will lose time from it. Last, but certainly not least, you must get the execution spot on. There are a lot of ways to save frames in this game, and a few ways to save full seconds. If you're climbing up stairs, you want to land on each stair as quickly as possible so you can re-jump at a sooner time. Failing a jump will lose you at least a second, which is lethal to your time. There is also a frame perfect trick you can do. You are able to clip into a wall by jumping up to it and holding an opposite direction the frame before you touch it. When you do this, you can move out of the wall and jump again. The run goes so quick that I don't even know if he did it without me noticing but I do know that he demonstrates it to skip a huge part of the first bonus level. It's an extremely risky strat to go for and he nailed it. He doesn't plan on improving this run unless he gets beat, and I don't blame him. Grinding this run out must have been absolute torture. Congratulations to him, he did a very very good job!

Here is my thread: http://www.speedrun.com/Speedrunning/thread/0xphf

I would like this to have just my posts. Anything anybody wants to say about what I post should be in a comment section type of thing underneath each individual post. Basically instead of continuing the thread, anybody who wants to contribute can leave a reply to the day's post. I would like every comment on there that isn't in the format of a daily post to be moved to a comment/reply section within each post.

Awesome, thanks for the help, 1Ups! While I'm at it, I may as well ask for the same thing but for 96 shines. What I need is just a route for which shines to get and when. Also I want to know what episode is best/easiest to get 100 coins in. And a Delfino route. Dammit there's a lot to this game. Additionally I can't do Gelato skip yet LOL.

I come from running Spyro primarily. People like to compare Spyro and Crash in a way and say that Spyro is more open world and you can make your route however you'd like but in Crash it's entirely linear. In Sunshine, I'm seeing that blue coins play a HUGE part in routing. In Spyro, you visit each level once, in Sunshine, you visit it like 11 times, it's insane. Blue coins also make the vast difference from SM64 in my view as well. This whole thing just feels so fresh to me. Sorry for paragraphing, I just need guidance.

Is there a 'beginner' route for SMS 120 Shine? I'm likely not able to learn most of the hard stuff right off the bat, but practicing 120 runs should help a lot with movement and learning where everything is. I don't have a preference whether the route is in text or video format.

I really want to learn how to play this game well. Over the last few days, I got my casual 60ish shine file up to 96 shines and 150ish blue coins (as of posting this). I'll find the rest of the coins on my own, but it would be nice to be able to learn the 120 shine route simultaneously.

Jumpyluff9 years ago

It would be it's own game. There is no Zelda Series moderator, somebody reasonable would have to request it and take care of it (likely a top runner, well respected, level headed).

Peggle Deluxe "Adventure Mode" in 1:10:16 by Dowolf http://www.speedrun.com/run/2yw0o73m

Everybody knows of Peggle. Most people have likely played it themselves. In Peggle games, the goal is to clear out all orange pegs from the board in order to move onto the next level. Sounds simple? The orange pegs are all randomly placed each time you play a level. Anybody who has played this game knows how inconsistent levels can be. They are heavily based on RNG and luck. One pixel to the left and you might've had a perfect shot that clears out 8 orange pegs. One to the right and you could have lost the round. It's crazy how unpredictable a game of this can be. Dowolf got a run with just one death. He's currently about 13 minutes ahead of 2nd place. As of now, there are a few sets of sum of best segments that are sub 1 hour. I genuinely hope that I will be able to see a run of such caliber in my lifetime. It would require insane luck, both with pixel perfect shots and RNG, and of course it would have to be deathless. For Dowolf at least, deathless runs will likely be mandatory for him to get a new PB at this point. Peggle Deluxe is one of my favorite games to just sit back and watch, with the occasional extreme hype moments that put you on the edge of your seat. I'd definitely recommend anybody who hasn't seen a speedrun of this game to check out some runs.

Ape Escape 3 "Any%" in 1:10:57 by DownieBrownie_ http://www.speedrun.com/run/oy2v60wz

For a very long time, Surreal and Beuchiism were the top runners in this game. Since then, when people started using PSN to get slightly faster loading screens, Surreal improved his time by a couple minutes. The current top 3 runners, DownieBrownie_, Squid, and Pull, didn't get into this game until just within 6 months ago. These 3 have picked up the game and mastered it extremely quickly. Currently, DownieBrownie_'s sum of best segments is a mid 1:08. I wouldn't be too too surprised if he cut the 1:10 in the near future. Long-term, I do have a feeling somebody will get a 1:08, but 1:07 doesn't seem at all possible unless something new is found. This is a run that DownieBrownie_ is finally proud of. I watched him a lot when he did Super Mario 3D World, so I know how consistent he gets at the games he plays. This sub 1:11 is definitely worth watching.

Jak 3 "Any%" in 26:21 by Goofy358 http://www.speedrun.com/run/8y8vn7xz

I know I said that I would try to diversify the games, but I've already made a duplicate of the same game/category. Two days ago, I talked about HillaryPuff's 28:25, but it got beat by over 2 minutes yesterday. I haven't actually been following the game much since then but I assume some new route is being used. This will be my worst post so far as I'm entirely uninformed about what has changed and I honestly really couldn't find many other WR runs from 9/12/2015 (this run might've actually been 9/13/2015, but timezones are screwy). Anyway. I'm sorry for this post, I didn't want to have an empty day. Tomorrow will be better! I'm sorry (sorry). Also http://www.frankerfacez.com/emoticons/52486 PogChamp

Free Running 2 "Any%" in 10:59 by Slylobsterr http://www.speedrun.com/run/0zno589y

Free Running 2 is a simple flash game that you can play on Miniclip. The entire aim of the game is to reach the end of 10 levels, in this case, as quickly as possible. Seems simple enough. It's all about running and jumping, grabbing ledges, etc. There were a lot of tricks and glitches that were found in this game, surprisingly. You are able to run on the fences of some levels, bypassing many ledge grabs, which is the best way to conserve your momentum. The more ledge grabs you skip, the faster your run will be. Also, there are boost pads in this game, where it speeds up your movement tremendously. You are able to keep that speed for quite a while after the boosts end by jumping midair constantly, which can be risky. Slylobsterr has been working on this game for weeks, seemingly everyday. It was really neat to see him get the first ever sub 12 minute run, but he took it way farther than that. His goal has been sub 11 for weeks now and after hundreds and hundreds attempts, he got a run he is very satisfied with. This series of events is basically the dream for many speedrunners: set a goal, work hard to reach it, achieve it. It honestly doesn't happen often, as we usually set a new goal once we beat the old one, as we see how much we can improve. In Slylobsterr's case, he really can't improve on this run. He'll be moving on to 100%! I can't wait to see what game he speedruns after he's done with Free Running 2!

Jak 3 "Any%" in 28:25 by HillaryPuff http://www.speedrun.com/run/1zqgp8xm

This is not a game that I've ever done speedruns of, but damn I love watching it. It was really cool to see the game evolve over the years. When I noticed that this was the only game in the Jak trilogy that was sub 1 hour, I was kind of amazed. Seeing it go sub 30? That's a huge milestone, absolutely incredible. Over the last year alone, this game has seen some major route changes and a huge lot of new tricks. Basically, if you are unaware of how the game works, the mission order follows a set path: finishing mission A unlocks missions B and C, finishing mission B unlocks mission D, and so on. However, you are able to trick the game into thinking you've completed earlier missions if you access a certain area early (example: Cave Skip). A good example of this is actually in Jak II, where in the first few minutes of the game, you access the Tomb of Mar and skip 60% of the game. Many of these sequence breaks were found for Jak 3. Along with optimizing movement, finding new movement tricks and glitches, and utilizing the "restart mission" to warp around a bit, the game dropped down in time tremendously. At this point, saving seconds is great, there are no more big time saves to be had. HillaryPuff shattered the previous world record by 25 seconds with this run, which is incredibly outstanding. This game could see a 27, but any lower isn't really doable at this point in time. Good luck to the current runners out there and keep working hard on it!
