Not having splits shouldn't impact that. Even if you are using a stopwatch

With having both All Characters and All Badges adding another category in the same general ballpark. You should try out You should try out All Characters for sure!

I stand with Wa on his opinions about the categories that should be added and also where he stands on leaderboard integrity. We can have challenge runs, but some things just do not belong on the official leaderboard. We have so many creative people in this community and I am so excited to see what we can do as a collective!

Special Items is a fun idea because it requires getting every treasure chest which will give the run plenty of substance! And yeah I have done LM% just need to do my first cruiser run :)

So glad you tried it out! I did LM% a while back and I think I had a crappy 18:43. Good note about the wiping file though thank you!

I just started thinking about new category ideas and these two came to mind. Two more categories that I think would work is getting the two unlockable stages. Luigi's Mansion and Daisy Cruiser. Luigi's Mansion meaning having to defeat Bowser Jr. in Mario Stadium and unlock the shop, then getting the money to purchase Luigi's Flashlight as quick as possible. Also, you would have to defeat Bowser Jr. to unlock nighttime mode. Daisy Cruiser having to defeat Bowser Jr. in Peach Ice Garden and then collecting the coins necessary to unlock the Cruiser pass in the shop. The timing would start as normal, but the timing would end when the text pops up on screen saying "____ is open" when in the hub world. Just a thought for two more short little categories that would be contained in challenge mode that could be fun to route and run :)
