Cherry picking which mods can be allowed is an endless battle. It's better to just ban them all.
I'd probably say to just outright ban it.
A couple of days I'd imagine. From what I understand they still have quite a substantial chunk of runs to verify, and there's not been much in way of discoveries for the ghost survivors yet outside of the oob stuff. So I dunno. Maybe 3 or 4 days?
You could message one of the mods for clarification, or on discord
I'd like to see a no knife category. People would actually have to think about the route instead of just running from objective to objective.
I'd say it's still a mod. Since if MODifies the game. But If its not in the rules for that category there's no issue unless the moderators decide its an unfair advantage later on. Which can happen since its still very much early days and the rules are subject to change.
@mondomantra where as the time loss is neglegible, its still an edit. He could have loaded the game or something and just cut that out. It's unlikely he did, but the fact there's an edit means he could have done any number of things.
Yeah, "runs must contain all footage".
Seems like a cut to me. Pretty sure that's not allowed.
I'm all in favor for voting.
@666deadhunter there's literally a cheat sheet for the puzzles in the discord, it makes no difference whether you have the solutions memorised or not.
@666deadhunter the reason the games paused doesn't matter. A moderator still has to sit there and watch a pause screen, so not having it paused for minutes at a time isn't unreasonable to me.
@CursedToast in the divinity 2 speed run board they separate the runs by patch. Old patch and current patch. I'd imagine something like that would do.
I have no problem with the moderation, but I mean expecting the rules not to change and old wrs to become invalid is just wishful thinking. Capcom could release a patch tomorrow to fix the knifes damage and bam, every run on the board now becomes oldpatch%.
That's a little bias, the games only been out two weeks, this is what you should expect from a new game like this. I don't think critisism as to the way the rules and leader board are being handled should be dismissed just because its how it has been the last 2 weeks. Rules as to how games are run change a lot, especially during the first few months of a game. Tl;Dr - its still early days and rules are subject to change. It even says it at the bottom of the rules. If your run is invalidated because of it, brush it off and keep running.
I thought this was a known thing, I've seen trance talk about it because they give you a minor speed boost when you dodge them. I've seen him use it on the zombie in front of the gate to get to the gate a little faster.
Is there a verdict on this yet? Allowed or not?
