You could, but that only means that the counterargument of there being "only one serious runner" can be relativated for any of these categories. Most categories on the extensions board however have additional reasoning for why they are not on the main boards. In other words, what Jaba said only made sense to point out for the sole reason of being a response to your criticism, Somebro.
Didn't the rules look different just a few hours ago?
A lot of the runs on the "glitchless" leaderboard don't follow all of the rules displayed in the "glitchless/exploitless" ruleset. Somebody please remove those (the valid ones are the ones 2-3 seconds faster than mine, plus level 9)
Good question, after a category named "True Any%" has been removed. I think a more accurate name for this is "Any% any gamemode" since Any%, not even true one, doesn't imply that every gamemode is allowed. It just means "any completion of the game as long as you beat it"
More precisely: Level 30 enchantment. Goal: Enchant an item at level 30. That way it will be hard to a) miss stuff in a completed run or b ) consider the ruleset arbitrary.
Bowser Stages Stage RTA: Red coin star, enter Bowser fight, collect the key/big star. One category per stage.
Secret Stars Stage RTA: Princess' Secret Slide both stars
Not much, but better than placeholders right?
It has actually been stated a few weeks ago that a new category doesn't require 5 runs anymore
It really makes a difference e.g. for Cascade Any% and Snow WP. Just more info
Assist mode isn't allowed on the main board as it is not the normal gamemode, however there is a category called True Any% in speedrun.com/smomemes where Assist mode is allowed
Edit: No there isn't anymore. What? Why?
Runners of 100% likely won't use the DLC. Runners of All Missions might however in order to replace a more expensive outfit with the Musician one
Minecraft solves this differently: https://www.speedrun.com/mc/thread/yoxw1 Not claiming that that would be better, but in case you actually thought that we have no choice, here's some inspiration @Tech
Thinking of what people want to achieve in casual play and even in PvP events, this milestone definitely comes to mind. I'd like to see how long it takes
Also the only loading zone may put you before the door
Is the frog there pre-Bowser?
Minecraft uses a core glitch that is caused by actions outside of the game. Minecraft separates its categories, which we could also do by using blue tabs within the categories. Btw, I would suggest finally separating the campaign categories: Renaming True Any% into Campaign Any% and adding No fast-forward and with/without textbox glitch as blue tabs, and renaming Glitchless into Full Campaign (easy, medium, hard, or 100%) with the same blue tabs
It definitely makes the campaign levels less micro-intense and a TAS-like approximation via no fast-forward more realistic. No fast-forward makes the game longer than it already is, but it becomes a lot more about routing, a decent bit less about basically unmaxable micro, and should remove pretty much any complains about lag and lag reduction methods. Also it's more casual to run. Also this glitch would allow us to record without sound, which should also reduce lag And we don't get the music copyrighted in longer levels Conclusion I like the glitch if it is possible with any hardware. No fast-forward however has no reason to allow it imo
OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) works
The reasons why Full Boss Rush isn't a good idea:
- You have to open the doors beforehand to not lose time
- We only get to see the normal Bowser refight Else?
