The issue is that the in-game physics have change for whatever reason, i tried it and just generally had a faster movement speed, this could be affected by what avatar/animations the person has, the in-game enchants (possibly, not tested), server lag, client lag, etc. I personally haven't gone into testing any of these options, but i do know that the last time i tried the ice obby my player's movement speed was slightly higher than it ever used to be before
Then again, some like it, some dislike it, it's all personal preference at the end of the
Things like Minecraft speedruns are procedurally generated, and random seed is one of the most popular categories as a whole. I feel like a with a couple reset and attempts you can find the people who can use the hoverboard better than others nearer the top even with worse RNG on the level generation
Fully caught up yippee
I have been fairly busy with a lot of IRL stuff recently and only just found out that Qalter removed himself. I'll be catching up with these over the next few days, lest you worry
At this point in time, the Atlantis and Sled Race timers are actually accurate, and assuming the video isn't missing frames or is jumping around way too much (often a side effect of the built in roblox recorder). So I feel like realistically those could just use in-game time.
Alternatively it could be an option to add the in-game time as a secondary timer that shows since that is an option on this site as well.
At the current time, the in game timer is not used due to slower obby times not appearing, and only Atlantis / Sled Race showing the in game time with slower times.
We've got this written in the rules, one reason being that has listed above my Ivory, 2nd being that when you don't hit an in-game PB, (like for example you are doing hoverboard and glitchless runs) the glitchless runs will not show the in-game timer when completing for the obbys, and from the last frame of the timer before finishing the run, there is a difference of either 0.01 or 0.02, and it's inconsistent as to which it will be, where some have even been far longer than both those numbers
We are retiming because when you finish the obby without hitting a PB, it does not display the finish time. In addition to this, when hitting a PB, the final frame of the timer shows a different number to what the PB time given is. So we've done this as a way to standardise them all using the video time for when we get submissions of people not achieving in-game PBs
Although weirdly enough, the Atlantis and Sled Race timers are extremely accurate in comparison
There are 2 streakless sniper runs by me at the moment. Winterland has the other streaks equipped but never used, and the orange_box has them specifically unequipped. It specifies inside the category rules when highlighting streakless that no streaks other than the nuke at the end can be used
The "full game" runs are more as a TDM/FFA distinction, with each map in the same leaderboard, where the "levels" are on a per map basis just in case people cared about those. I might change it at some point if it is too confusing, we'll see what other people think about it
I can't seem to find anything saying what it looks like when someone has submitted a run. Anywhere. Where do pending submissions show up? Do I get notifications? etc. i've been looking for about 30 min - 1hr and everything i search comes up with answers for completely different questions.
If someone could just explain or link me to somewhere that explains, that'd be great
