I discussed this with EskimoJoe, Gavme, and MisterIXI, and explained why the leaderboards are set up this way. We all agreed on that all the other CCs + mirror should not be added to the leaderboards. Same goes for any% and 100%.
As for the cups being misc categories: They are not full game runs, and thus they should stay misc.
Also, it might just be me, but I can only count 4 people being supportive of mirror mode.
Another reason would be that whenever we add mirror mode, we also have to add 50cc and 100cc. There's no point in adding those.

My any% record is 41:53, btw.
Why did you add TT though? Do we really need a separate ranking for that?
Oh yeah, I meant RTA. Sorry bout that.
I don't think that 'excluding' 3 people is such a big deal. When these people submit their runs, they just look at their old records and submit their time. This isn't what the speedrun.com leaderboards are about. Go look at cyberscore. That's only in game time, 50hz or 60hz, no difference.
Putting better IGT scores on the bottom of the list is dumb. There is no way of telling if it was 50hz or 60hz and menu-ing is not taken into account. They're not 'exluded', they didn't use RTA timing. They can do a run with RTA timing, just like everyone else.
RTA is the main factor in the leaderboards here. Menu-ing is part of the speedrun, and thus it should be timed. As for letting them sit at the bottom of the list, it would look weird. Faster runs being at the bottom because the RTA time is missing.
Thing is, it might be more convenient, but 1 extra click isn't all that bad. All the other MK leaderboards have the cups classified as misc, and I see no reason to make an exception to MKDD.
The cups are a small category in Mario Kart. They aren't a main category, and thus they should be misc.
Like I already said, I do not mind if extra variables get added, as long as they don't clutter up the existing leaderboards. Having a default for the variables would help for adding 50cc 100cc and mirror, but I don't know about 50hz and 60hz. Should we really split 50hz and 60hz?
As for IGT vs RTA: The IGT has been used for time trials because you don't have to do any menuing and it's more accurate. In GP however you have to press A to advance. RTA as default and IGT makes the most sense to me personally. Although pausing or taking a break can't have a drastic effect on the run itself, I still see it as a 'speedrun', so without breaks.
As for moderation: I like the idea of adding 'and series moderators'. People will know who they can contact if they have any questions about the game. One question though, if one of the series mods focuses on let's say MKDD, will they be added to the 'normal mods' and also be listed as a series mod, or just as a series mod? Also I'll gladly accept to be a MKDD mod!
Personally I don't really care either way whether mirror/50/100 gets added or not, to me it'll seem more like a gimmick and pretty much be useless. If people want to do a run of 50cc or mirror, go ahead, but I doubt that there'll be any competition in these categories. But as long as they don't clutter up the leaderboards then I'm fine with having them.
As for IGT vs RTA: To me RTA would make more sense because players won't be able to take a break during a run. pressing A is part of the run and shouldn't be skipped.
Because NTSC already plays with 60hz, why not force PAL players to play on 60 too? To me it seems more fair to everyone.
And as for mods: I can volunteer :^)
I was kinda confused why skull64 got mod of the MKDD leaderboards, but I guess this explains it. I'd like to put my two cents in.
so to add to the Mario Kart Double Dash discussion:
While I don't really mind the addition of mirror mode now that it's a special mode, even though I still see mirror mode as a gimmick and kinda unnecessary, they way Skull64 handled it is in my opinion very pathetic. Just because he didn't agree, he decided that he should contact an admin and get full power of MKDD.
"and I just hope that all of you see why I find it frustrating that no one arguing against including Mirror Mode on the leaderboards is actually any good at Mirror Mode."
How would you know that everyone on the leaderboards is shit in mirror mode? That doesn't make any sense.
What's the point of mirror mode, though? It's an unnecessary gimmick that doesn't really differ from 150cc.
So after lurking for a while I decided to do some speedruns of Mario Kart Double Dash, created this account, and when I looked at my profile, it said I have done a run of SM64 16 stars. How do I get rid of this/can it be changed to another name?
Edit: Looks like it has been fixed! Thanks!
