Can you change my name to "FireFox"? I just noticed that the name was free.
@kirkq It's been suggested that I take over the Dirt Rally and Dirt 3 moderation, which I'm happy and willing to do. PojeBunny is the most vocal, however I can vouch that there are issues and obvious disjointedness to the Codemasters/Colin McRae Rally speedrunning community due to the sporadic moderation on the leaderboards. Not to mention the lack of effort towards the games in the first place from aforementioned current mods.
You need to drive further up before turning around and going backwards for the first shortcut, otherwise that tends to happen. I usually aim to touch this dark bar here as I'm turning around- http://imgur.com/a/rTE3N
You also can't land too far ahead, which is another reason. You usually aim to get SG as you land that cut, but if you land a little too far ahead of that it can respawn you as well.
Is there a way to have leaderboards set so that only level leaderboard submissions have the millisecond parameter while full runs submissions don't?
Been playing around on my Vita version (PAL) and Pull said that it cuts load times, but it also speeds up the entire game, not just the load times. Using external timing on a crappy Crash Cove run, a time of 1:28 was actually 1:25 RTA. (In comparison to a PS1 emulator, a time of 1:23.14 was actually 1:24.42 externally.) Does this sped up of actual gameplay happen on PS2 as well?
Yeah, don't worry. I'm good with boosting and all of the shortcuts except for some of the more extremely difficult ones and a few consistency issues.
Wouldn't be surprised if none of the characters were unlocked, but it seems to be that I should pick Dingodile/Tiny, so in a 4-player match it sounds I'll still have a preferable options. Will prefer Coco/N.Gin though just because I'm way for familiar with those stats. Thanks for the advice guys.
Got a local retro tournament coming up in a few weeks, so I'm just preparing for what characters I should pick if Coco/N.Gin get taken.
Wouldn't Dingo/Tiny/Papu be worse for some of the high-turning courses/tech? Or would they still better than Crash/Cortex even in those situations?
If you weren't able to use Coco or N.Gin, would Crash/Cortex be the next choice, or would it be Pura/Polar?
Anyone got a good explanation for how to jump onto the wall the second time? I can slide into the and drop off just most of the time just fine, but when going backwards around the track I can't seem to pinpoint the place you're meant to jump from. It just seems random whether I get over the wall or smack into it.
