I fully agree, added "Glitchless" as you described it: no wifi-skip, no breather-skip, and no battery-door-glitch.

I wonder if the boss fight skipping 3 rounds of enemies is a skip in that sense? Doesn't look like it was intended that way...?

Note the 'Category Rules' top-right, they describe start and end of each level, and other requirements. There may be details missing, just ask, and we can always add more levels with different rules if you have a good idea!

I guess it makes sense to require the pistol, as well as 15 ammo to complete this level. So you have to get past the mine, open the vent, and dive, which completes all parts of the obstacle course.

You started this thread by saying "It is pointless to have this discussion". This tells me that you think that you make the rules. You do not. The rules are made by the community of runners.

You think, I need a permission to post something. I get it, as long as we disagree on the usage of mods and how to measure time you don't want me to do anything here that is contrary to your opinion.

Let's take a deep breath...

You posted a run. You want others to see your run. I want to see your run and learn from it. I want to see as many speedruns as possible to learn from it. So I want the rules to be as easy to follow for as many people as possible.

If you don't like the F1 box, fine, don't use it. It's not a requirement. But why not add IGT, too, if it's there?

(Your second post is a lot of rant and I guess you should delete it pronto in your own interest.)

Putting a timer on top of a video doesn't prove anything, and you need to remove that requirement. I already mentioned the Moderation Rules - Verification: "The time of the run is the time in the video from starting condition to ending condition."

On the other hand, you can require the F1 box for IGT, as also pointed out in the Moderation - Rules: "Do not require a timer on a video unless there is a good reason to do so. A good reason might be a game that uses an auto-splitter to track time without loads."

The F1 box does exactly that, it tracks time without loads. If there were an auto-splitter it would simply hack into the game and read that time. I know because I created the auto-splitter for Haydee 2.

An external timer can be placed on top of the video in post-processing. That seems easy.

However, if the timer is fading black when you go through a door, that would be a lot of work to alter.

As to your question, of course IGT is the proper way to go. Removing load-times is fair to people with slow PCs.

You also mention mods. They are allowed for outfits. Editing the game files is allowed for translations. Any mod that doesn't change the gameplay should be allowed.

You suggest using LiveSplit which hacks into the game file. In theory, it can change anything in the game. That's no different from a mod.

It's unfortunate that you removed all my comments so far. We had a long discussion about this already. I'm curious to see if you keep this comment.

There is something we agree on, that's why I posted this mod:

It simply shows the time when you press Alt+F7. You can look into the source code, it's doesn't do anything else but show the in-game time. That is definitely easier than a separate timer. And it's less distracting than the F1 box. (I can change the mod to not show the room name, or even show 1/10 of seconds, or maybe you have other ideas that I can implement.)

Once there is an auto-splitter for Haydee 3 we would have three ways to show IGT. Which seems to be what we both want!

Using LiveSplit is not part of the rules. It also makes recording videos more difficult since you need an external program like OBS that records both the game and the timer.

I'd still suggest to allow entering IGT as well if displayed. It just removes the load times that have nothing to do with the ability. And you're already doing that on Haydee 1.

Besides, I would prefer to see the F1 box for the top runs. It's easy enough to use. You used it on almost all your runs on Twitch.

If there were an auto-splitter for Haydee 3 you could make that point. But there isn't.

Pressing a button, then pressing a button again, doesn't measure anything in the game. How do you rule out that someone pressed the button slightly after the game started, and slightly before it ended? Simple, you would look at the video.

The whole button-pressing and showing time separately doesn't help you verify runs.

I would suggest using IGT. It's fair, it's accurate, and it's build into the game. It's also what we used in Haydee 1 and Haydee 2 (either with auto-splitter or F1).

How exactly do you want us to measure real-time? What's the name of the tool, how is it started, how is it stopped, and how do you verify if it measures the time accurately?

Eventually, you would have to compare the time it displays with the video time code. The video is the actual proof.

I don't understand, why wouldn't you use IGT? The F1 screen is very precise.

Other than that, the video play time indicates the the time from start to finish.
