Ummm... no, I don't think you do it with ROM hacks, at least not yet. No full level-changing mods yet exist for SMO, and it will be a while before they do.
We know they are hackable because 1) they have been hacked 2) the person who hacked them said they were hacked and 3) the person who hacked the leaderboard says that it is possible to hack the leaderboards. What do you mean "how"?
Even if you meant Bound Bowl, you're still wrong. The Snowline and Iceburn leaderboards are certified hackable.
@Bearonomics https://mkwrs.com/smo/ has KFR, RC Car, and Bound Bowl. I don't know who holds legit WRs for Jump Rope and Volleyball, but I'm sure someone on the Discord knows.
@Sparticusink I don't think you quite know what you're talking about. SMO can easily be hacked on the online leaderboard. None of the supposed world records on the leaderboards are actually the real records.

Load times being different could also mean the run was done on an emulator.

I believe that all hats, an alternative suggested by @IwerSonsch, would be be better.
50 moons, 60 moons, 69 moons, etc. are all very similar as half-any% speedruns. However, we already have Festival%, so one that stops in metro probably isn't the best. 50 moons seems like a solid idea, with a nice, round number of moons, and a good stopping point.
I think this is an interesting short category idea. If there are enough runs, it should be added to the boards.
It is known that new things will be added. Of course, there will probably be a digital version, which would significantly cut loads down. I'm sure adding a variable or a subcategory will work.
"current strats" Many strats being implemented into the Equan sheet are not viable for runs, but it is true that the best possible time at the moment is significantly lower than any runner's sum of best. The time on the sheet will continue to drop daily until incredible levels of optimization occur.
What are your plans for the leaderboard when Go Vacation Switch comes out?
