Recorded a time which I'll upload privately, was just taking screenshots but now I want to record runs for proof.
Good fucking necropost tbh
You also need to buffer an A input on a specific tile if you're not already doing that. This manip is also IGT-frame dependent, I think it's the same as the other manips where it has a 52/60 chance in working correctly.
Interesting! Can you give us an overview of what type of game it is/the kinds of mechanics it utilises/how long the game is? Also, how long is this demo competition on for? Can't really check the link right now is all, though you've caught my attention.
You're better off asking in the specific game's forum.
Use Monitor Capture and just manually select the area you need, that's what I do.
tfw he called it quits due to nearly-universal negative reception.
Turns out that taking the content of others, monetizing it without their permission and then publicly trashing them isn't looked upon very well.
My most recent speedgame is Pokemon Red, which I've picked up for two main reasons:
1: The shift from IGT to RTA was decided largely due to the RNG manipulation strats that were found recently, which make the run infinitely more palatable for me. Being able to consistently get a god-tier Nidoran, clean Mt. Moon and consistent Surge trashcans makes the run a lot less frustrating, and overall easier to just pick up and get the hang of.
2: Red/Blue is one of my biggest childhood games, which is my primary criteria for picking a speedgame. If it wasn't a game I sank countless hours into as a kid and gained a very deep understanding of, I'm less likely to want to run it.
So more than anything else, I picked it up simply because I want to be able to say I've tried running it, and the RTA shift made it much easier to do so. Plus, turns out it's really fun!
Yo, you should honestly never be discouraged by an apparent 'lack of skills' as we all start in the same place. I know that sounds like a cliche, but it's true. Since you brought up Undertale, go and look at TGH's obsolete PBs, they're in the same region as yours if you go back far enough. Make sure to hit up the Undertale Speedrunning Discord and we'll help you out as best we can.
That said, one look at the board in question tells me it's a meme game that I wouldn't waste energy on anyway lel
This is a query for the game's moderator(s), they have full creative control over the themes of their boards, and I'm pretty sure it's not really the site staff's job to veto the board themes or intervene unless it's blatantly inappropriate/offensive.
Could be a problem with the video encoder you're using I suppose, or the presets in Advanced. No real suggestions on what to set them to, but it's worth a look and having a fiddle around.
Error in timing shouldn't matter anyway. If the verifying mod knows what they're doing, they'll manually retime the run to make sure it's accurate.
I'd also like to be kept in the loop about travel from England. It's about time I made my ESA debut.
As an addendum to my Panzer Dragoon Zwei moderation request, the leaderboard has since been deleted, presumably because there was absolutely nothing on it and the sole moderator was totally inactive, which I, you know, wanted to change.
So cheers for that.
^ Why should splits ever be necessary? If there's an intact video, that's all you need. Splits are a relatively new phenomenon to speedrunning and should never be a prerequisite of a run VOD, in my opinion. They're a helpful tool for the runner to keep track of their progress and to provide constant information to the audience about the pace, and nothing more. They are not an intrinsic part of the run.
