You didn't put the right times though. IGT and RTA Without Loads are two different times. You put IGT in the RTA Without Loads section.
Here is us even telling you it wasn't IGT and you acknowledging that it wouldn't be IGT: https://imgur.com/4IUQg9d
A side note: it will take us longer to verify your runs if you don't time them correctly. You labeled the RTA for your Zilch run incorrectly and, along with that, you submitted the RTA without loads time as the IGT timer. So now we need to retime it ourselves which takes longer. Please be patient as mods do this for free and we can't have every single second dedicated purely for verify your runs.
No, it wasn't. I have no idea but no one told you at all that was the case. It was always expected to be RTA without loads. We checked the IGT and it is inaccurate for our purposes and was expected to be like the original game. YOU wanted it to not be RTA and we agreed, but that doesn't mean that everyone else did or that was the decision. So it takes some time to remove loads from console runs, or you could do what I did for my console runs and, like me, do it yourself. But keep in mind: Mods and verifiers have THREE WEEKS according to the SRC rules, not three hours lol. There are games that are over ten hours in length, how are they supposed to be verified in that time? And with multiple 2+ hour-long runs being submitted every day or two it is hard to get to everyone in three days, especially when you are submitting multiple runs.
This was discussed in the past and it isn't something we are planning to do, but we appreciate the idea!
That idea might be fun as a challenge runs, however All Collectibles somewhat fulfills that 'completionist' niche that you're good for. We do appreciate new ideas however!
As for breaks it typically depends on the context. If you stand up and go out for twenty minutes on a pause screen then we will reject it. If you are pausing to adjust your headphones or plug in your controller that is usually fine. Typically you should be taking breaks for less than five minutes total through the run to be safe. If you need to use the restroom, we suggest to plan accordingly and go during long segments where you have time, such as the truck fight with Abby, or, even better, go before your run. This is to make it so your runs have the least chance of being rejected.. If you have any other questions, let me know.
Hi, the link to this Discord is expire, can you link a new one?
I found this OOB using the out-of-body experience. Nothing useful here per se, but maybe someone could find a way to implement this in another spot.
Typically if your break is longer than 3-5 minutes, it could invalidate your run
Generally yes, you can change settings during attempts as long as they don't invalidate the run, (Changing Grounded to easy, turn on accessibilities during a restricted run etc.) Bathroom breaks COULD invalidate your run if the break is long enough. It is recommended that you go before or you go reeealll quick. Awareness indicators are allowed, and to know which accessibilities are allowed make sure to look at the 'View Game Rules' tab where we outline what is and isn't allowed for every category. Hope this helps!
Hello, can https://www.speedrun.com/the_tairyou_jigoku (The Tairyou Jigoku) be added to the https://www.speedrun.com/simple_2000 (Simple 2000 Series)? The moderator has given permission for it to be added here: https://prnt.sc/w190yq
Is there currently a way to downpatch for the Any% route?
Hi, I'm not sure if anyone knows but I was curious to see if there was any difference regarding the versions and if one was faster than the other. If not, I could work with someone who has a Japanese copy and do testing as I have the European version. I don't think it would be much slower but PAL games on the PS2 can be weird, especially with IGT.
At the moment there are no plans to add Santa Barbara as a separate category. The main reason for this is A ) it is too small to be considered a 'full-game run'. And B ) There isn't a way to fairly have everyone start at the same beginning point due to the fact that your supplies are based on your playthrough with Ellie, meaning that everyone's supplies would be different. It could have NG+ only but only really it would probably be closer to an IL.
When we work out how we want to handle ILs in the future we'll include it there, however.
So we got it working, it is just extremely finicky. Oof.
Hi there! I was wondering if it was possible to make it so me and my Coop partner are able to both use a controller, rather than only one being able to with the other doing keyboard? Do I, the host, have to plug two controllers in for it to 'detect'?
Yes, as long as you don't activate any banned accessibilities you may do both. And the Any% categories aren't restricted to Very Light, you select your difficulty when you submit. I recommend if you swap around multiple times to set it up as a Custom Difficulty
Hi there, I was interested in running the game and noticed in the forums that the Great Safe Clip is pretty much required to be done on 1.0/1.1 so I was wondering if there was a way to downpatch the game?
Thank you for all the information! I know DualShock2 is faster but I feel Guncon would be more fun and a good incentive for marathons and such. Plus it feels more fun. That being said it certainly requires a lot more work for one little thing so I probably won't do it for a while, but this information is certainly quite useful. Thank you so much!
Hi there! So I saw Carci do this but I was wondering how it was possible to record footage while also not breaking the light gun capabilities completely?
