You probably killed 9 zombies in Claire A.
and these questions would be better for the creators of the program Mortician or Dchaps.

You have to skip the first cutscene at xx.6.
Open your script and delete the "Reset" part. Your timer will now count in the menu and reset to 0 when the game starts.
This is what I have in my script:
As long as it doesnt change the hitbox of the character then I wouldn't mind.

I have the same problem on the Japanese version. Especially on doors that change the Stage_ID like going up and down the stairs in the west part of RPD.
Think most people would run any game on the 90K model of the PS2 which I plan to import from Japan.
Whatever you do don't compare anything against Trevor's Claire A run, the time of that run is dodgy as fuck
QS: done by mashing the aim key as fast as possible after you fire the first shot. Example @ 28:47:
Door skips: If you use All Door Splits then you can just check what time you get for a specific door and then add 1.5 seconds to that time and thats when you wanna skip. Example: When you enter the first door to Kendo's Weapon Shop then split "0" will give you a time. Say you get 9.50 then you want to skip the door at 11.00 (or 10.96 to be exact).
EDIT: and that G-Mutanto fight never happen Kappa
The RE2Speedruns channel was first made to stream runs and tournaments for RE2 for charity. However if it turned out that the channel would get alot of support and views then the plan was to expand it to RE1 and RE3 and maybe CVX.
It seems that RE1 runs will already be streamed as soon as the current RE2 tournament is over.
Because of the RNG RE3 has it would be better to have a double-elimination tournament where everybody would have a 2nd chance for the finals.
Thats more of a challange. Same goes for No Damage, Kill all enemies etc.
Only exception we have in RE Speedrunning is Knife Only (Low%) which has been a category since the beginning of time. Other then that everything is all about the fastest time on these boards.

Yay, just please dont add Nemesis% NG+.
If you have too could you atleast make sure so ALL Nemesis encounters are fought?
Those controls are OK. Main reason is because 2 buttons that perform the same action can't be pressed at the same time in RE2. So for example having 2 aim buttons wont help you with QS because when you press one button then the 2nd button gets deactivated/un-usable. Same with the action key if you hold one of them and try to open a door with the 2nd one then you cant open the door :P
Controls that are NOT OK is when you map 2 actions to 1 key like: Dash + Up Dash + Down Dash + Left Dash + Right
No reason to ban SRT cause it only reads the memory from the game and you can still count it yourself in your head.
@jakef1891 Thank you for that example.
I have to say that if you dont wanna continue the run as Magnum% then reset is your only option. The runner has the option to continue but chooses to reset, im sorry but cheating the game would remove the most dedicated part of this game. I guess we have to agree to dissagree.
Furthermore I'm gonna stop resetting when I get a magnum and I will submit it to Magnum% and Any% if I beat my current PB.
I'll take the RTA and IGT back, was supposed to continue on that but totally forgot what I was gonna write. E3.
So saying that people should pick another game becuase they dont like how it was made is close-minded. But changing the game with 3rd-party programs to your own favor (less resets) is ok?
TAS isnt just when you make a run frame by frame in an emulator but its also when you use external programs to change the game itself. RTA is the direct opposite where its only the runner and the game.
I am intrested thou, could you name me 1 game on SRC that allowed a 3rd party program to improve their luck or skill? I would like to find out why they did it and what they changed.
SONY on E3 now and bed after, later!
TAS: Tool-assisted speedrun RTA: Real-time attack
There is only one or the other, there is no middle ground. You're not loosing any time, except in RTA cause of resets but not for IGT.
If this is an issue for certain runners who dont have alot of time for speedrunning RE3 or gets very frustrated then im sorry thats how the game was made and this is not a argument to manipulate the game to your own advantage (runner vs game). People should've picked another game if this is an issue and im saying that as peachfully and honestly as I can.
Whether it would remove a harmless RNG or the entire game doesnt matter. It's the priciple and its the difference between TAS and RTA. The game was made to have that RNG and once you manipulate it then you're doing TAS and not RTA.
@jakef1891
Can see that your first run was 1 mouth ago so I'm assuming you wasnt here for the China drama where there was alot of criticism for the RE3 mods cause they never had an open discussion about adding china.
apology accepted.
@jakef1891 I'm pointing out that I as a runner can criticize how mods are doing things and that I care about it.
@jakef1891 what does that have to do with anything?
Alot of these non-runners have actually run the game before, watch other people run it and are involved with the RE community. I started to speedrun 4 years ago and altough RE3 hasn't been my main game I have been involved with it in one or another way and I do care what happens with the game, how its moderated and if I think something is wrong then I WILL point it out.
