Hey Crimson! Welcome to the site. I’d recommend uploading your run to a video sharing website. Most clips are submitted via YouTube or Twitch (if it was livestreamed). So just upload your clip to YouTube and once you’ve done that just come back to speedrun.com and submit the link to your video :) best of luck!
Awesome! When I originally started following this game I was hoping individual GP’s would be added!
Seriously though, seeing a 1:14 on console is super cool and hopefully I can get that by optimizing my movement like you did. Like I said, 1:15 for me is pretty good playing on xbox. Great job.
Ah yes, if you are using livesplits then it counts because its going by real time. It's unfortunate there's no way to have autosplits (meaning that livesplits pauses the timer for you during animations/cutscenes), but since the leaderboards go by in game time then it shouldn't matter. Use livesplits to your advantage to know if you are on a good pace but just know that your final time won't have any of those animations counted. Your livesplit time will be a good 4-5 mins higher than your in game timer by the end of run.
Enigma, just for reference: that 5 second animation doesn’t count towards your time. As soon as the animation is done just pause the game and you can see your time. I also play on Xbox one and a 1:14 is amazing. 1:15 is my best.
This is from one of my earlier speedruns but I still always thought it was funny. Of course I got way too close -_- lol
Damn.. I run the game on an Xbox One (which is debatably the worst console to run it on), so the idea of getting out of the apartment at 1:07 sounds crazy. 1:15 is the fastest time I’ve gotten, 1:16 and 1:17 are the most common for me. But the FPS on an Xbox One can be pretty slow. PlayStation seems to run the game at a solid 60 while Xbox outputs the game at a higher resolution which makes the game go much slower. Would love if I could make it out sub 1:10
Thank you for the info, Rezurrect! That’s really helpful!
Also, this is not on PC. This is on Xbox one base console
So I just got my first sub one hour, and this actually occurred again for me during the run. I decided to keep it going as I was super tired and just wanted to finish the run. I ended up getting a new PB though. I’m assuming this just occurs when the flash is too close to the door and somehow flashes the “door” zombie
Was on my way back to the train station and Nemmy spawned at the top of the stairs. Surprisingly I missed my dodge and got hit which left me with low hp. But I knew that if I could land the next few dodges I’d be in the clear. Well sure enough, I did, and made it all the way to the door. Just before the animation of her crawling under and closing the door, I got grabbed by a zombie..
Hey, I am also running the game on an Xbox one and I highlight all of runs on twitch to submit them. Just install the twitch app on your Xbox and create an account/sign in and go to broadcast. Everything you do in game will be live-streamed and saved on twitch. You can download your clips and upload them to YouTube or just submit the link of the twitch highlight.
That’s the free way of doing it, but ideally you would want to use a capture card for maximum quality
Wow, funny enough as we were talking about this, the Any% Console WR was broken by ANIXEL_RB and he was playing on an Xbox one x. A glimmer of hope for those of us running on Xbox perhaps?
Thank you all for the incredibly helpful information, that’s going to help me a lot in my runs. So my main question now is: is playing on Xbox putting me at a disadvantage? Doing some research it sounds like the Xbox one X version of the game outputs at 2160p while the ps4 pro version outputs at at 1620p. And it doesn’t sound like the Xbox one is quite powerful enough to support that kind of output for certain areas of the game and can get a significant frame rate drop in certain parts of the game.
And to top it all off, I’m not playing on an Xbox one X, I’m just playing on the base console. I’m sure throughout the duration of an hour long Speedrun, those frames add up and I’m sure give you a significant disadvantage, no?
I know this creates problems in of itself, and simplicity is ideal for speedrunning communities. But to me this raises the question of: should there be separate categories for those console platforms? Clearly and understandably, the developers didn’t have speedrunning in mind while making the game. I know it would be annoying to have an Any% Xbox One and an Any% PS4 category, but now that I think about it, most of those top runs on the leaderboard are actually PlayStation players.
Just a topic of discussion, I don’t mean to cause any conflict!

Wow, this is crazy informative. Thank you guys for putting the time in to reply. In the video comparing the fights, mine definitely resembles the top right corner but not quite that long! So if it’s frame rate based does that mean that most people playing on Xbox are on a level playing field?
So this is a question I’ve wondered since I started running the game. I’ve noticed, in watching other speedruns, that Nemesis only runs around the generators for a few seconds before he stops and Carlos calls out a number. When I get to this point in the game, I’m running around in circles for a good 15-20 seconds before he stops running and I can shoot the red boxes to get him down. In some people’s runs, he doesn’t even do a full circle before stopping.
So my question is: is this a DA thing? Am I landing too many perfect dodges and the game just wants to make it that much longer? Or is this a difference on platforms? A lot of the runs I watch are on PC which is just much faster in general. I am running the Any% Console category on Standard, and play on an xbox one.
If anybody know why this happens and maybe has tips on how I can speed this up, it would be very much appreciated. Maybe I’m just crazy.
On a side note, love how helpful people have been in this community. I’ve met tons of people because of this game and am super stoked to be a part of it in some small way.
