I was reading previous pages and realized I should post this now, rather than later, since it seems very busy on the site.

I would like to request to made the moderator for the Zatch Bell series. I was originally the one who made the request and it was accepted.

https://www.speedrun.com/zatch_bell

I meet the requirements having more than 3 runs in 3 different games and would like to add an image, some forum posts and links to discords, bounties, etc. There are also additional games, but I don’t plan on adding them until someone or myself can complete a speedrun of said games. It is not a big community but there are fans.

I would not have requested the role if I didn’t want it, since it was accepted as a series that again, I requested. It was a little frustrating last year not being put in the role, I hope to have the request accepted please.

The other series mod request was for the Hiryuu no ken series.

https://www.speedrun.com/hiryu_no_ken

It’s of less priority, so I put it second. I also was not the original person who requested the series, that person is no longer on the site.

Same thing here, but theres less games to add in the future. However its nice to have a series mod and links.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, if you need additional information please message me.

Back again for the new year. Requesting to be moderator for the Ninja Masters leaderboard.

https://www.speedrun.com/ninja_masters

The current moderator has been inactive for 4 years on speedrun, twitter, and all streaming/video platforms. So i have a feeling my run will not get verified. 😂

He also does not have any runs for the game.

discussione: Fight Fever
Kumamoto, JapanDBcade4 years ago

Fight Fever also known as Wang Jung Wang is a pretty rare fighting game made by SNK and Viccom. Not much is known about this game, so there could be lots to find in this game; here are some of the main points:

Difficulty: Similar to Shinoken( Ragnagard) this game has odd difficulty selections, the default level 4 seems to be the easiest, the other levels seem to change the AI patterns significantly, in some cases making them more difficult whether its level 1 or level 8. Differing greatly from traditional SNK levels of difficulty.

Characters: Master Taekuk and Karate Kenji, the boss characters of the game are unplayable in circuit mode. If you select Master Taekuk in versus mode, after you will have to reselect another character after winning (it switches back to circuit if a challenger doesnt come.) I could not find any pages in Japanese, Korean, or English on codes to make them playable, but that does not mean they don't exist.

Combos: Characters in this game do lots of hit stun in this game, meaning when a character is hit they are in a state where they are pushed back but can be hit again for a number of frames. For example, Miyuki can combo standing light punch walk slightly forward standing light punch from one side to the other. I have a feeling all the characters can take advantage of this in there combos.

I don't expect this game to be a popular title, as it seems it never was, but I thought it would be important to point out some of the main things that could be researched/routed for this game for the few that attempt it.

The fast disk effects different games differently. I will look into importing this game at some point, when I have a console that can play it.

I know that PS2 Emulation is inaccurate on loading for most things. It would be something interesting to look into regarding to Jurassic Park Warpath.

[.quote=Zrightining] I think it definitely should be survive the most rounds/stages. You can survive an extremely long amount of time if you just run around the arena after doing a few safe, successful hits and letting the timer decide "you know what, the player did some damage, the AI did not, so the player wins."[./quote]

While this is a very fun challenge and I would be excited to participate if an event or board is made. What you described is exactly the opposite of a speedrun, and should NOT be included on this site. Unless you want to track it in the forum or link to rankings page.

Any percent in a fighting game speedrun means any rules typically. A separate variable should be made for the difficulties, any and/or easy percent. Normal percent. Hard percent. Etc.

Ultimately its up to you how you want to setup the boards, but I think the site has a lot of examples of fighting game leaderboards.

Is it known how much faster the game runs on ps2 vs ps1?

discussione: Windy X Windam
Kumamoto, JapanDBcade4 years ago

Windy X Windam! I ran this broken game quite a while ago and never switched the format to match other righting games. I was made a moderator when the original runner passed it to me.

Thanks to one of the new runner @WoT7n some spelling and missing characters were brought to my attention.

Over the next two days I will fix the variable and categories. This will not impact anyones ranking or times. I just want to make the board cleaner. Edit: I also realized there are no rules ... I will add those as well.

Any ideas and suggestions are welcome!

Kumamoto, JapanDBcade4 years ago

@GustavoPredador san, In general a normal survival mode should not be a speedrun. It would also be nice to see the difficulty categories added back. This is still a fighting game and should have similar rules to other fighting game boards.

I made a thread but my previous runs were removed for some reason. The AI behaves very differently based on difficulty so I think it deserves a Easy, Default, and Hard %.

I hope that my concerns are read. I was excited to play this crazy dinosaur fighting game, and hope the changes and fixes can be made. Thank you.

This was the PS1 run using emulation.

It seems the other difficulty categories were removed...

I just noticed, because of the conversation in another thread but my run is not on the board. Previously I worked hard to route and set the best times.

I think a goal should be set. Otherwise clear times would be different.

One of my personal favorite versus fighting games, One Piece Game Colosseum Cross Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden are both now recently able to be played on PC, with controller /arcade stick. If you found this page it probably means you like this game quite a lot as well. If you interested please send a DM, I will also figure out how to link to the groups discord.

The rules and runs will be added in the next month or two, because of the ability to play and record easier.

Kumamoto, JapanDBcade4 years ago

Ive known about this from day 1, I left it so he can stay on the board as a cheater with his bad time.

If it bothers you Ill remove it now, i just thought it was laughable.

Alright, so I talked and showed this off on my stream before. Gaia is absolutely broken, he can ring out any character in about 5 to 6 seconds, on top of doing more damage and hits in a single combo. Sho is a powerhouse, not as good but had some very silly attacks, where the rest of the cast cant catch up.

Basically they, Gaia and Sho, are secret boss character for a reason.

Ultimately if your a secret character that means you would be used for an ANY% category. This is a good standard thats been established.

Usually Any% is also for any rules are ok, change health, change damage, time, etc. its usually a goofy category but this always people who want to change the game settings to whatever they wish including rounds get set here.

I think in this case, ill keep 1 round bouts since thats what people like. However typically with fighting game time attacks, I always view it as pop in into the console and play the default. Then you can change the settings later. This game was never released in Arcade so I can’t hold it to the same arcade standards that are valued for some us game maniacs.

I’ll look for a better image for background, but i remember it being hard to find. I usually try and slightly match the games feeling or color to the theme of the game. Outside of the green default I am open to changing it. I think used the background image for silly quote on the box.

Lets keep this thread going, maybe others on the site will jump in to run this game.

I didn't say I was giving special treatment. I offered an options to the community. Please don't twist my words. Even if you don't like one of the options I offered, there are different words you can use.

Aside from that, I like the discussion yourself and others put forward so I think that might be the best action. I will try and sort this out by tomorrow my time. My goal was to ultimately make boards cleaner, and rewrite the rules, etc.

Could I ask what ever would feel about getting rid of the 1 Round Bouts? Aside from Any%. I could move previous runs to that category.

Kumamoto, JapanDBcade4 years ago

Its funny to think this could have been solved if the PSclassic used the standard which is NTSC.

Generally with fighting games we don't separate regions. If there is a better version out there, its usually that's the version everyone agrees is played, it is the standard to separate consoles.

Overall and from the very beginning, this board varies from how I generally create or approach fighting games. Usually, 1 Round would be Any%, and the rest of the difficulties would be the default 2 rounds and settings. I didn't want to delete the runs or variables that were here previously, but now its caused this situation. So I apologize.

I am glad that this game is getting the attention it deserves but a solution that doesn't bloat the board is the best.

What does everyone think about letting @AllAgesGaming convert only his time in this case? Or Making a separate clear category for PSclassic as @dlimes13 has suggested? I don't see a problem with either as it would not change the ranking.

On a final note, I have zero plan to ban emulation in this game, or in any games.

I think it has to do with no losses and clearing well. Ring outs might count against but again I don't have experience in the category. It might be because its 1 Bout, which is not the default. I think the time is fair if the settings are the same.

Kumamoto, JapanDBcade4 years ago

The game length would be longer I think Sho would be the true final boss. I will switch the rules. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong as I did not do attempts on Very Hard yet.

Kumamoto, JapanDBcade4 years ago

I added PSClassic now.

I just realized its very late right now so it might be a while before a response. I think AllAgesGaming Is easy to reach on Discord if you wanted to tell him the same thing you posted above directly. No favoritism here, I just always want to be inclusive so everyone can play.

Kumamoto, JapanDBcade4 years ago

I think we can set Very Easy to the default. All Ages asked for MOD over the Summer and had asked about converting before. I will bring him into the conversation.

Sorry its never an easy decision with so many variables. I will add the PSClassic as a console right now. Any other suggestions are welcome.
