If there is abuse of mod powers in some way, you can post about it in the leaderboard moderation requests thread that I linked earlier, and the global mods will take care of it.
supermods can make people supermods as well
yes, they both have the power to verify and reject runs
the only difference afaik is that supermods can add/remove mods
The first step to becoming a mod is to message the current supermods. If they are unresponsive or otherwise troublesome, you can post in this thread to have the issue resolved by a global mod.
edit: supermods can also add other supermods
There are some PC games that allow similar things (doujin games mostly but I think a few others as well).
I think that allowing it is a good idea in general because it limits the influence that different PC setups have on the run and also makes it unnecessary to fiddle with the framerate during runs to increase consistency. This allows runs to be more directly comparable, both to runs on the same PC and runs on different ones. It also makes running the game a lot more enjoyable, as players don't have to worry as much about whether or not the game will decide to function properly during the run.
If your community agrees to allow the tool, I would suggest linking it in the game resources and mentioning it in the rules (along with the settings used).
one of the mods could add a variable for SDS/FDS/NA if they think it's worth noting
Making this thread to let people know that US region is used to indicate that the run was on an english patch. Though it probably doesn't matter in most cases, it seems worth indicating in some way.
I could do that (and probably will), but it would be nice to have an option to do it automatically.
None of the current games are duplicates.
I don't mind combining series moderators, but I don't know if the moderators of the other series are ok with it. I couldn't find them on irc but can try twitch messaging.
I would prefer for Puzzle Bobble to persist as it's the name used in the majority of the world. It also has a series image and favicon etc set up already (not to mention it would probably be easier to transfer 3 games than 8).
If possible, could you add an option to receive notification for forum posts in moderated games?
http://www.speedrun.com/puzzle_bobble and http://www.speedrun.com/bustamove should probably be combined, as they are two different names for the same series
I haven't been able to find any runs of Custom Robo N64 on nico or google (though I did find some of V2), so I guess you can just pick something reasonable. My suggestion would be to start the timer after confirming your name entry and stop it at the last input before the credits start.
I can add whatever timing you decide on to the rules if you want.
you have to create an IL category in order to make ILs show up on the game page, so try that if you haven't already
The Kirby Air Ride mod list seems bugged maybe? (the 1431 in the mod list)
It's happening on all game pages, but only for the flags listed under the Region tab (not the player flags). My browser is Chrome Version 43.0.2357.124 m.
Edit: Actually, the line under the US flag appears to show up more prominently when associated with certain consoles (N64 and SNES at least) than with others (PC and Wii U VC, possibly more). The Korean one I took from this thread, so I don't know the conditions on that.
Suggestion: record the placement of runs when submitted/approved so that people can see the original rank of each run as well as the current rank (could show this on user profile pages maybe)
Also, the lines above/below some region symbols might be a bug?
Examples:
until this site is updated with high score functions, there are other sites for shmup scoring, such as Restart Syndrome and the shmups forum high score board
Twitch should send you an email when you receive PMs to your inbox (unless you disabled this feature).
However, many legitimate PMs are moved to the "Other" (spam) folder, and twitch doesn't send you an email for filtered PMs. You can turn PM filtering off to fix this problem.
I think this also happens to any other game with rules shown by default.
