Welcome dude, good luck with your runs, hopefully you can get the board tidied up too :)
They should pay me for the advertising haha. Glad it's working out for you :)
Wait, Shotcut has a built-in timer feature? Have I been taking unnecessary steps in editing all this time lol
Welcome aboard! Hope you find a game / games suitable for you :)
Just my 2 pence: as a viewer there are certain games I watch because they have a specific meaning for me - so it's not a herd mentality thing. Outside of that, and again this is just me personally, I watch runners because of the runner, regardless of the game they're playing. If the theoretical runner is no good at commentating or interacting or whatever then it doesn't matter what the game is, it's not going to be a great viewing experience.
Also I tend to prefer watching streams with smaller audiences, feels more intimate I guess, but that's just me.
You guys are all nerds........imagine taking me away from my Warhammer discussion for this
Perfect Dark Zero, it's on 360 and X1 (X1 version is better to run due to shorter loading times). It's about ~50 mins, pretty easy to pick up, I've been psyching myself up to do some more runs but I'm the only one running fullgame (ILs are not fun at all)
"Also, is it bad that I eat salt?" - Yes, from both a health and a "wot" perspective ;)
+1 for popcorn, although I'm bad about eating greasy stuff while gaming, my pads must hate me
Favourite speedames to watch would definitely be SM64 and Half-Life. They're also 2 of (but not my most) favourite games in their own right, though I haven't played either for probably over 15 years by now.
^ tbh I read those parts and thought it must be a spoof account
Welcome! Love the name lol
Finding a skip to get rid of a very inconsistent and run-killing piece of RNG has probably been the best thing I've done so far.
Obviously I can't respond to anything that was originally said, but I will say that I love to watch specific runners regardless of the event, and to an extent regardless of the game. Many of my favourite speedruns have been done at GDQ, albeit as a coincidence.
It's been said before, but I wonder how invested a player can be in a game if something that doesn't change the game in any way is enough to stop them playing it. The Discord LB idea that has been suggested is a great alternative IMO.
