Since the Switch runs at 60 FPS, it loses about a second over a full run. Since I've gotten into the Sub 5:02 range, the decimals finally show. If anyone knows where a final time speadsheet for 60 FPS Consoles is, that would be very useful.
Hello. I would recommend watching Kosmic's video about some strats, but I'll gice you some help. First things first, you don't have to get 380. It's not required until your going for around the time I'm going for around 4:59. Also, make sure you come to a complete stop on the pipe in 4-2, if you don't it will fail. However, you don't need to start going for it right away. Also, make sure your doing a backward jump into the wall/pipe. If you do a backwards jump and then brush against a block, it will push you around 7-10 pixels. A forwards bump only gets you 3 at max. Hope this helps, but if it doesnt, watch Kosmics video.
Thank you repusoiram. That's what I was expecting, I just wanted to make sure.
I didn't realize this when I started speedruning SMB1. However, I have learned that the Switch version runs at a slower framerate than an NES or Emulator. After comparing one of my runs that died to bowser on 5:04 pace, I figured out approximately what my time would have been. At least to my knowledge, I was even with a 4:59 I found until 4-2, where I lost a framerule. In 8-1, I lost 2 framerules, and in 8-2, lost 1 more . That puts my run that died to bowser on mid 5:01 pace. In 8-3 and 8-4, no time is lost or gained. That puts my run around 5:01.5, when if it finished it would have been much slower. Is it allowed to adjust my time on the Switch to cancel out the slower FPS? I'm by no means an expert at this game, so it's definitely possible that this is very wrong.
