Speedruns with duping are not dull at all, it's very exciting to run through the game with no saves and having an op deck. Dull is subjective, as well as fun.
I disagree with separating them based on route. A no dupe run (or no trade run) will never, ever, ever, ever be as fast as the optimal dupe (/trade) run. That's a fact. Optimally, you can get 12 drags, 12 thunders, 6 equips, 3 raigs, 3 umis, and 1 dh (my go to deck) by 15 minutes into the run (if you're lucky). That alone makes the WT much faster than a no dupe run, and thus is the fastest theoretical RTA route. (assuming realistically optimal rng) Also, final 7 and skipping save menus is realistic in any% and not in no dupe. To claim that no dupe can be faster than with dupe is madness. That will never happen outside of TAS. In order for no dupe to be faster than dupe, you'd REQUIRE perfect luck on every fight, no farming whatsoever, an OP as fuck starter deck, and great drops on every fight. That will all never happen in a single run. However, with duping, a deathless run that can reach 1:15-1:30 is a realistic possibility, and I'll probably end up getting it.
It's fine the way it is imo. I'd also like to say any% should not be misc if 100% isn't misc as well. 100% is arbitrary and pointless, not even 100%, and not even consistent within its own "rules". It also barely has any runs. Both should be main, or both should be misc.
After an extremely lengthy discussion triggered by this thread, we've reached a consensus and I retract my previous post.
Hello, I'd like to request moderation for the Forbidden Memories leaderboard. A glitch was recently used in an any% run, and I submitted a record to it. After doing so, my run was rejected, and the rules were quickly changed without any community input. I brought it up with them, and they were dismissive about it.

Afterward, a "discussion" began in the discord server, which resulted in my run being accepted, and rejected again for this reason:
A poll was started in the discord, and the majority voted for a category rename, which GFC_ disregarded and made a decision all by himself that opposed it to throw my run into. Some of my followers also celebrated my run, and posted it to r/speedrun. Then, GFC_ messaged moderators of the subreddit to tell them to remove my run, which they did. Afterward I was kicked from the server with no reason and GFC_ refuses to explain why he did what he did.
I'd like to mention that I have been an active participant in Forbidden Memories speedrunning since early 2013, I also created and maintained the first leaderboard on google documents until GFC_ took this page first and that was what it was. I had no problems with it, until now where he seems to be abusive. Mergy and Kollin also seem to be of the same opinion and/or are completely neutral. I've tried talking with GFC_ on twitter, but he refuses to respond in a serious tone, and he refuses to talk to me on any other platform.
I've tried reasoning, but it seems that this is my last option. All I want is a proper leaderboard that accurately reflects the game, categories, and community intentions.
I'll do ILs later, but I added NG+ categories. They're in misc. until someone does runs of them!
All of those suggestions sound good to me.
also coop cats dont have multiple people on them. can you make me mod as well?
Yeah but splitting for each visit doesn't seem bad to me
I think it'd make more sense to just have Any% / 100% solo and coop (4 categories) with difficulty variables, that way the leaderboard doesnt look cluttered.
Would prefer individual levels compared to just units, unless for whatever reason that wouldn't work for 100%?
I refer to this post as an option http://www.speedrun.com/re5/thread/6le5d/2#9o1ba
Does this work for 100%? If not, can you make a 100% file? (Not sure if the route is the same)
I don't see a big deal, are there any six year olds on speedrun.com?
I disagree, showing the options menu before or after the run and seeing 60fps would be better. Counters are distracting imo
RE5 has them, but in RE5 its so much easier to select chapters individually, but in Re4 you'd have to carry inventory to certain chapters in quite annoying ways to optimize the IL times. It could work, but I'm not sure it'd be popular because of that.
Decent quality is encouraged, obviously, but if someone gets a record of some kind, and the run is visible, to deny him the title of "WR" because of some hip-hop tunes in the background seems pretty silly.
I think you should accept it, but just tell the dude to try harder next time.
Well I was a mod for X6 for over a year and am the most experienced and knowledgeable runner, but I don't really care about it at this point.
have you tried getting the wolverine guy to smash you while your running in one of the spots?
