@QuadrickTM No problem man, you are absolutely welcome, I'm glad I could help you out :D
@QuadrickTM @Hachimen Okay I made a version on the 1.0.2 release labeled (Hotfix) that has a skip update button, So it should work for you now :)
@Hachimen Oh nice, I can't remember exactly why I forced you to update to be honest xD, I guess I could add a button to skip it.
@Hachimen Thanks you're all welcome :D And yes I am the developer, I didn't know how to create an actual update function in the engine, so what I did is I made it so it downloads a file from GitHub(version.ini) and compares it to a value in the update screen, and sees if it matches and if it does than it doesn't ask to update. So, it seems like it isn't reading the file properly or something, the (version.ini) file appears in the cache folder in the files in the AppData folder(Instantly disappearing however). I always felt as though the program does pretty much everything that it needs to as far as editing Boshy files. I never really thought of updating it except for like a few minor changes or additions here and there. And no there isn't a source code currently.
I don't really understand your answer to my question, could you please clarify?
Hi,
Now I know I ask a lot of questions about controls but I just wanna get it right.
So my controls would make it basically impossible for pause buffering, and I would like to eventually start using it. So I was wondering if you are allowed to rebind pause buffering with AutoHotkey.
If someone could tell me that would be very much appreciated! :D
I have been wondering this for years, it seems to be RNG but sometimes it seems that it is how you have played up to that point, Like in the first half of stage 2 with the soldier far left on the second screen.
If it is RNG than I have found out that if you stand within 1.5 blocks on the ride side of the platform with the barrel on it, then it doesn't trigger the soldier but any further it does so it seems to make it a little more consistent at least.
But other than that I am not sure same goes for bald bull's teleporting RNG, I don't know.
So I know the grapple reject glitch can be very annoying but there is actually a way around it believe it or not.
So the grapple reject glitch happens when a grapple connects while you are holding jump and your previous grapple was released from anything besides jump (Down, Hitting a wall etc). This also happens after restarting or entering a level when your previous grapple was released with anything other than jump or if it wasn't released at all. And also after a grapple reject happens once it's impossible for it to happen on the next grapple, no matter if you hold jump when the grapple connects or not.
So as long as you release jump before your grapple connects you should be able to prevent grapple rejecting every time.
There are some cases where a grapple reject can happen no matter what, like in stage 3 on the second screen when you grapple the first appearing block to swing over to the middle one. That is just you hitting the floor and getting stopped.
Anyways I hope this helps, this helped me quite a lot when I figured this out finally so yeah. gl hf with runs everyone!!!!
Okay thank you very much :D
So I have been using a button that toggles between W being my jump key and W being my UP key with AutoHotkey so that during the Gradius section I can move up because it waste time to rebind my controls before it. and I figured that it should be fine since I'm doing it because my controls are bad for that part.
Please let me know if this is okay for me to do because I'm not quite sure. I know I should have made this post before I started doing it but I really though it would be okay now I'm having doubts about it but yeah xD.
Ahh ok yeah that's what I kinda thought, btw the reason why you missed me asking in discord is probably because I didn't really ask in discord I kinda just roughly mentioned that I unbind Q lol. Also I'm a wasd'er myself xD.
I was just wondering if unbinding Q with autohotkey is allowed, I know BBF said in a previous post that autohotkey should only be used for your basic controls so you don't have to redo them when you reset but I have always have unbinded Q cause my binds for movement and jumping are very close to that button.so I always miss click it. I didn't ever think it was a big deal and I mentioned it in discord with BBF, Tyste and Anuj and no one seemed to say anything about it so I'm not entirely sure, please correct me if I'm mistaken and I will stop doing it immediately.
Wow that is pretty funny, Nice find :D
Ahh I see ok that's what I thought that's why I said it takes a lot away from the game thanks for clarifying :D
So quick question I'm not entirely sure if this would be considered against the rules or not but let's say you get to to a spot where you need to bind double shot right, well.. what if you just had a function in AutoHotkey if you're using it for your controls that when pressing a button it binds shoot and down to the same key for you rather then needing to do it with ctrl y. And when you get to a spot where you need to unbind it you have another key function that binds shoot and down back to their original keys that you had before.
Now I know that this takes a lot away from the game but this is just a hunch that I have had for quite a while now. And I don't see this as cheating as its just rebinding your controls mid game. So I was just wondering if this would be possible or if its not allowed. Please let me know thanks :D
Hmm that's weird for me it loads way more then that here's a picture: https://imgur.com/mgUpz4O
