Moderators are considered inactive if they have not logged on or verified a pending run in at least 21 days. In the case of inactive game moderators, please attempt to contact them via social media to resolve the situation.
Contact the mod on their social media. If you don't hear back within a week, go here: https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/dueac
@Lieutenant_Boo you might want to brush up on the latest timelines, as your post is not quite accurate.
^^ And an edit on a non-v board won't require reverification, so "may" is right.
When you submit the game, write in the additional info that you will volunteer to be a verifier, and that I am volunteering to be the super mod. I'll set up the page and categories, resolve issues, and fulfill any other mod duties, while you can run verification of runs (and check in with me if there's anything you would like guidance with.) Once things settle with the boards I would leave you to it and only act when you need something only a super can do.
You can also ask an older sibling or something, or even better, someone who mods similar games.
It's not a big job if there isn't much of a community yet.
So ideally, if you take it seriously it shouldn't be a problem to just do it all yourself. But if you feel like you need help with it don't hesitate to ask for help.
If you are on desktop, click the top bar where it says More... or where it says your username. If your window is very narrow, click the hamburger menu or your username. If your window is extremely narrow or if you are on mobile, click the top right user icon or the top left hamburger menu.
Then click Night Mode.
Do NOT rip out your eyes.
I don't understand something. It's really basic but the implementation is so confusing.
Right now, on my user profile, I have one setting to change a colour. This one singular setting controls 1) how others see my profile and 2) how I see the site.
Why are these not separate settings?
I think this must be a minor oversight for when logos were added back in:
Bad[/small]
If visitors can't see custom themes they shouldn't see custom logos.
Just follow their social media. This site shouldn't add follows until after it adds a way to block users from following you. I expect that is happening with PMs.
So maybe?
The new UI makes it look like you should be able to click on "Page X of Y" to be able to navigate to any page. But only "Previous" and "Next" are clickable. In a topic with many pages, I cannot select which page to go to. (Mobile, night mode).
- Love the UI updates.
- Loathe light mode; I tried it for 7 hours. Just switched to (night mode/white theme/black bar). What a relief it was to get back to a more familiar feel. Too bad it wasn't default, at least for existing users. That might have eased some stress.
- Ambivalent on themes. I've been active on the Discord and we've been told there for months that themes are going away. Too bad about how it was all handled. I'm sure I can make some kickin' banners when things settle down.
There's just one thing I'd like to know, if you decide to be transparent about the motivations...
Is the redesign a precursor to having (more) ads?
I am worried. I think a lot of us are. This site represents a great deal and many people have poured so much into it. Thank you for your time.
It's an extremely complicated situation. The Spyro Reignited community is contending with this as a whole right now.
In short: The game was patched to remove a lot of tech. On the disc, only Spyro 1 is included. The second and third games are downloaded when you put the disc in. So for those two games now you can only get the patched version.
It has messed up the boards something fierce.
Check in with the community to see what the latest is. Use the game-specific forum or their Discord. My info is a couple weeks old.
Have you contacted the Warsong mod about getting it added to the series? The Warsong mod @autoshy can post here: https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/5twus
You can try posting there too if you like, but as far as I know, the game mod needs to be on board.
Also one of you will need to provide a reliable source that demonstrates the game should be part of the series.
Good luck!
It has been brought up before that sometimes, a verified run video is accidentally deleted or lost. It was previously verified, but now the proof no longer exists. What happens to the run on the leaderboard?
If staff is of the opinion that the run should stay, the rules should say so. Conversely, if staff is of the opinion that the run should be removed if the proof is no longer valid, the rules should say so. Like with a lot of the rules, correct me if I'm wrong, but I think staff would prefer to leave this to the discretion of the mods. Is that right?
Side suggestion:
The moderation rules have introduced a solution for when a user wants their video removed from the site, that being the new Anonymous rule, quoted as follows: [quote]-If a player does not want their top time listed, it is acceptable to just not list the top time. It is also acceptable to list a top time with the username "Anonymous" and no video linked.[/quote] I think this is great. This compromise option wasn't really on the table before and I'm glad the site is taking privacy seriously. [small][small]RIP the inactive squatter holding the "anonymous" username. [/small][/small]
But now that we have the "Anonymous" option for purposely deleted proof, is this an appropriate course of action for accidentally deleted proof? Basically, if this option was taken, the run would stand on the boards as a time that was once obtained; yet since the user can no longer provide proof of the run, the user can no longer claim full credit.
If this compromise is acceptable, should the rules mention it? If so, it would be something like [quote]-Similarly, if a player accidentally loses proof of their top time listed, it is acceptable to remove the top time in question. It is also acceptable to list a top time with the username "Anonymous" and no video linked.[/quote]
