I was wondering why emulation is not allowed. I love smg, but i don't have my wii anymore. I've been using dolphin to play my games for awhile now, and this speedrun seems like something fun.
The emulation is inaccurate and would give times that you wouldn't get on console. That being said, if emulator is your only way to play, then feel free to do runs! They won't be accepted to the leaderboard, but it's better than not running the game at all :)
Nothing wrong with starting on emu to see if it's fun either. You mess around with learning speed strats and compete with yourself in single levels, and get a Wii later if you wanna commit to seriously learning the run as a whole
