The biggest changes to this route from Long Island Limbo are Bedroom 1 & 2, Engine Room 1 & 2, Garden, and at the end. Bedroom 1 does Dusty Dune and Freezeflame Galaxy first, saving Gusty Garden Galaxy for Bedroom 2. Bedroom 2 is also done earlier, starting with Dusty Dune P after Snow Cap. Engine room 1 does Gold Leaf and Toy Time Galaxy and Engine room 2 does all of Sea Slide Galaxy. Garden has a completely new route that does Dreadnought Galaxy earlier and incorporates the pipe route in Deep Dark S. Select the third star if you choose to not go for the pipe route. Additionally, Loopdeeswoop and Bigmouth Galaxy are done after Engine room 2 to accommodate for comet cycles and Terrace 3 is done last to save a load. Caution: THIS ROUTE LOSES ~50 STARBITS FROM HONEYHIVE L AND HONEYHIVE P!

120 Star "Bedroom Boogie" Beginner/Advanced Route

**THIS ROUTE IS ONLY FASTER WITH BOTH LUIGI AND 2P!!!**

120 Star route made by Pablo Diaz & ro__money, with additional help from Tibs, xzRockin, and others

This route saves up to 13.6 seconds over "Bedroom Boogie" mainly from a 2P-only jump from Engine Room to Garden, and better in-dome routing to align starbits to be optimally collected and skipped.

Levels marked with a (0) on the splits are optimal to collect 0 starbits, however the full-game routing for this is tight, so if you are short at the end, doing Honeyhive P and L before Sand Spiral is only a 4 second timeloss.

This route is not recommended for beginners.


120 Star "Disco Dome" Expert Route

Fastest 120 Star route as of 29 April 2020,
Saves ~25 seconds over the "Kansas City Shuffle" route by reinstating Rolling Green tutorial skip and some faster observatory movement. Be aware that starbits are tight for 2P if you skip Slingpod grinding because Sweet Sweet is done immediately after Slingpod

242 Stars and Luigi Start Save (PAL)

This route is about 35 seconds faster than Pushback 2.1, and it trades Battlerock 2, 3, and C for Space Junk 3, Slingpod, and Ghostly 2. This route is EXTREMELY tight on starbits, so only do it if you are VERY confident in your starbit collection. If using 2P, get rid of Good Egg 3 and add Loopdeeloop after Honeyhive 3. The route is far more lenient with 2P. You can also make this change with the 3D All-Stars version, but it is still relatively tight. If you get Battlerock 1 OOB, collect starbits in Rolling Green and Beach Bowl 1. You can technically avoid starbits in Good Egg 2, but obviously that makes it much tighter. If using Mario, some of the starbit counts might have to be adjusted. Route made by Alaeus with adjustments by xzRockin and ro_money.

Any% "Going Commando" Beginner/Advanced Route

New fastest 2P route for both characters as of 20 June 2024.

This route saves 6-11 seconds over the "Going Commando" route by replacing Loopdeeloop and Freezeflame 3 with Good Egg 3 and Space Junk S, and a star order change for a faster cycle in Beach Bowl 3, and doing Buoy Base 1 early, among other minor timesaves.

Total amount saved:

Luigi 2P: 11.153 seconds

Mario 2P: 6.437 seconds

**Note: If you do Loopdeeloop tutorial skip, that level is faster and should be put in the route to replace Good Egg 3**

Any% "Goomba Griddy" Expert Route (2P Only)

This route is the same for both characters. This is a modified version of the Pushback II route that rearranges the Kitchen route for slightly faster star orders, penguin cycles in Beach Bowl 3 and S, and to make collecting starbits easier for Sweet Sweet.
